Ripley chooses Flair as WrestleMania 39 opponent

Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley has chosen to go after Charlotte Flair’s Smackdown Women’s title at WrestleMania. The match was made official last night on Raw.

This will be a rematch from WrestleMania 36, where Rhea Ripley suffered a defeat at the hands of Flair and lost the NXT Women’s title. Ripley was the one who tried to get Flair to choose her rather than the Raw or Smackdown Women’s champion and Flair did just that, taking her title away in the process.

Ripley already won the Raw Women’s title at WrestleMania, two years ago at WrestleMania 37 when she defeated Asuka on night two.

A Raw woman challenging for the Smackdown title will be interesting in this case as Ripley is part of Judgment Day, a faction which is tied to the Raw brand.
