Ridge Holland announces that he is “stepping away” from the ring indefinitely

In an angle shot last night on NXT, Ridge Holland announced that he is stepping away from NXT “indefinitely.”

Holland, who broke Big E’s neck on Smackdown two years ago for real and then had a worked injury angle with Ilja Dragunov on NXT, thanked William Regal, Shawn Michaels, and other producers and talent for the journey but cannot risk injuring himself or someone else anymore.

The former member of the Brawling Brutes added that he knows what the perception is about him and no matter if they are true or not, it had an effect on him. Holland noted that all he wants to be is a good father and a good husband and he doesn’t want to take work home anymore, and with that, he announced that he is leaving the in-ring competition.

To add to the angle, WWE has already moved his bio to the alumni section on WWE.COM.

Holland was moved back to NXT after the Brawling Brutes disbanded.
