Rhea Ripley gets NXT Women’s title shot next week

AEW is not the only ones giving away huge matches for free as NXT announced last night that the NXT Women’s title will be up for grabs next week with Io Shirai defending her title against Rhea Ripley.

Shirai issued a challenge to Ripley last week and Ripley accepted, with the match believed to be happening at the next Takeover show rumored for December. No announcement for a Takeover has been made though and the match has been bumped to the November 18 broadcast.

The Japanese Superstar has been champion since Takeover: In Your House in June when she beat Charlotte Flair and Ripley in a triple threat match. Ripley was the champion heading into WrestleMania, but lost the title to Flair. She made history by becoming the first NXT star to defend the title at a WrestleMania.
