Rey Mysterio suffered a legit injury on Smackdown last night which cut his match against Santos Escobar short.

The two were in the final of the United States Championship Invitational when during the commercial break, Escobar hit a suicide dive on Mysterio. Unfortunately for Rey, his head bounced on the floor and medics immediately came over to check on the Hall of Famer.

When the show came back from the break, the ringside physician was still there talking to Rey and then took the decision to stop the match as he was unable to continue.

Mysterio then got on his knees and hugged his fellow LWO member as Escobar showed his respect.

Escobar now faces Austin Theory for the United States title.
