Report: Sheamus leaving WWE upon contract expiration

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling is reporting through his Select service that former multi-time champion Sheamus is departing WWE once his contract expires soon.

The 48-year-old Irish star has been working for WWE since 2006 and has been an integral part of WWE programming for a very long time.

Sheamus’ career in WWE has been quite a rewarding one, winning the WWE title three times, the WWE World Heavyweight title once, the United States title three times, the Raw Tag Team titles four times, the Smackdown Tag Team titles once, as well as winning the King of the Ring, Money In The Bank, and the Royal Rumble.

He has not been seen on WWE television since the November 17, 2025 episode of Raw where he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day in John Cena’s final appearance on Raw.

He underwent shoulder surgery in Birmingham, Alabama in late December, an injury which has kept him off TV since that November Raw.

Sheamus has already removed WWE references from his X account and changed his name to show “S. Farrelly” which is his real name. His username, which is more complicated to change, still reads @WWESheamus.
