Randy Orton to lead The Condemned 2 movie from WWE Studios and Lionsgate

Variety is reporting that former WWE champion Randy Orton will be starring in The Condemned 2: Desert Prey, a co-production between Lionsgate and WWE Studios.

The movie follows a former bounty hunter who finds himself on the run as part of a revamped Condemned tournament, in which convicts are forced to fight each other to the death as part of a game that’s broadcast to the public.

The Condemned 2 will start production in New Mexico later this year with Roel Reine directing from a script written by Alan McElroy.

The Condemned, which had Stone Cold Steve Austin in the leading role back in 2007, remains the lowest grossing WWE Studios movie which was released in theaters. It did jut $8,635,183 in worldwide box office receipts.
