Pete Dunne debuts on Smackdown…as Butch!

Pete Dunne was moved to the main roster and is now part of the Smackdown brand, but unfortunately for him, he also got a dreaded name change.

Dunne, who’s been part of WWE since 2016, is now going by the name of Butch and was paired with Ridge Holland and Sheamus. Dunne had an alliance with Holland in their NXT days before Holland was moved to Smackdown.

The new name received a barrage of negative reactions online and all thought the change was unnecessary, especially for someone who’s been wrestling for WWE for the past five years, and for someone who was NXT UK champion for 685 days out of those five years.

Dunne is the latest unfortunate one who was on the receiving end of a name change. Walter, another former NXT UK champion, recently had his name changed to Gunther.
