Paul Heyman returns…and aligns himself with Roman Reigns!

Friday Night Smackdown ended with a major twist and the return of Paul Heyman.

Heyman, who has been absent since WrestleMania 36, was revealed to be sitting side-by-side with WWE’s newest heel – Roman Reigns.

Reigns had to sign the triple threat match contract for Payback and after reading it, he advised Adam Pierce that he can’t sign it like this and wanted changes. Reigns said that no matter what, come Sunday, he will be the new Universal champion again after wrecking everyone and that was “not a prediction, it’s a spoiler.”

At that point, the camera turned around to reveal Paul Heyman sitting on the couch with Reigns. “Believe that,” Heyman told Pierce as the two then looked at each other and cracked a smile.
