NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament returning

The NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament will be returning this year after WWE hyped it up on NXT last night.

The winner of the tournament receives a title shot against whoever the NXT Women’s champion will be at the time.

The tournament last year had eight participants, with the eventual winner Roxanne Perez, Nikkita Lyons, Sloane Jacobs, Arianna Grace, Fallon Henley, Lash Legend, and Tatum Paxley, and Kiana James. Lyons got injured after the first round and was replaced by Tiffany Stratton, who moved to the finals against Perez.

The 2022 version was held in May and June across four episodes of NXT. Perez did not win her title shot against champion Mandy Rose following the tournament.
