No plans for Pat McAfee to be at WrestleMania says Nick Khan

Speaking on The Marchand & Ourand Sports Media Podcast, WWE CEO Nick Khan said that there are no plans for Pat McAfee to be at this weekend’s WrestleMania in Los Angeles.

Khan put over McAfee big time as well as his drawing power for young viewers, but noted that he is extremely busy with many different projects in his life right now.

“He’ll determine, ultimately, where he wants his home to be and our hope is that he does more with us,” Khan said.

McAfee did not return to the Smackdown announcing booth as it was originally planned last year after he took a leave of absence from his WWE duties to do ESPN’s College Gameday. McAfee did appear as a surprise at the beginning of the Royal Rumble and joined Michael Cole and Corey Graves for commentary for the whole night.

The former NFL player admitted that there were a lot of chatter about him and his future in WWE but said that his story in WWE is not over.
