Nikki Bella still waiting for MRI results over ankle injury

In an interview with Angie Martinez published yesterday, Nikki Bella revealed that she is still waiting results of an MRI from her ankle injury which she suffered a few weeks ago during a tag match.

Nikki rolled her ankle during the start of the match as she teamed up with her sister Brie to take on Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Nikki finished the match, but said that it was stressful both for her and her sister, who was only in her second match back in eight years.

“So she tags me and as I’m about to come in, she goes, ‘Oh I think I broke my ankle!’ and we’re on live television,” Brie explained. “I was like, ‘Huh?’ I was like, ‘Do we need to call the match?'”

Nikki said she thought it was broken as it felt exactly how it felt the last time she broke her ankle but results are still not out yet.

“We don’t know if it’s a high sprain or something else, so I got an MRI I’m waiting for the results,” Nikki said.

The twins are in a fatal four-way tag team match featuring also champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend, Bliss and Flair, and Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. In the event that Nikki is not cleared to compete, a replacement team is rumored to be on standby.
