Monday Night Raw TV report for 06/05/2023

The new World Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins is introduced first and he said it’s been over 2 years since there has been a world championship match on Monday Night Raw. So he went online to put out an open challenge and Damian Priest answered the challenge and whether you like them or not, they are dangerous.

Damian Priest and Finn Balor come out. Damian tells Seth he is a deserving champion, but he doesn’t need Dom, Rhea, or Finn to beat him. Seth says why don’t you put your money where your mouth is and leave your crew in the back. Finn started complaining but Damian says hold on I am fine with it because at the end of the night I will be the new World Champion and your reign will be short-lived. Seth goes I am fine with that because my reign is already longer than his, pointing at Finn. Finn drops his head.

Becky Lynch VS. Sonya Deville in a Money in the Bank qualifying match

During the match, Zoey Stark and Trish Stratus come out and briefly distract Becky, Trish and Zoey watch on from the stage. Becky wins with a man handle slam.

Winner: Becky Lynch

A recap of what happened with the Bloodline on Smackdown.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens were interviewed, and Sami said he isn’t the one to say I told you so and Imperium came in and interrupted. Kevin flips out on them about not learning anything last week. Gunther said I need to teach you discipline and Kevin said great we have an arena full of people waiting to see me fight so it’s you lets go.

Multiple pin attempts by both men, very good match. Vinci and Kaiser got into a fight with Sami and Kevin rolled out to help his partner and chased Kaiser in the ring and hits a Stunner on him. Gunther took advantage of the distraction and rolled Kevin up as he got back up after the Stunner and Gunther gets the win.

Winner: Gunther

Matt Riddle is interviewed and says the only reason Gunther is the Intercontinental Champion is because of Kaiser and Vinci and a fight started when Kaiser asked him what he was going to do about it.

Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey are interviewed and challenged any team and Kayden Carter and Katana Chance answered the challenge.

Good match for the debuting team of Chance and Carter, but Shayna was able to lock in the Kirifuda Clutch for the win.

Bronson Reed walks up to Ricochet and argues a little bit about how he beat him, but it is Ricochet in the Money in the Bank match. Shinsuke Nakamura comes in and it’s Nakamura and Ricochet next.

Great match interrupted by Bronson Reed, who comes out and destroys both men.

Winner: No Contest

Alpha Academy and Maxine talk about the Viking Raiders and talk about how they are going to take them out. Gable then tells Maxine he can’t start training her dressed like that and Maxine says she has just the outfit and walks away.

MizTV with special guest the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes is next. After talking about Brock Lesnar, The Miz welcomes the special guest Dominik Mysterio who comes out with Rhea Ripley.

Dominik calls Cody a deadbeat dad like Rey is. Cody says I know the 15 minutes you spent in prison was hard on you. Cody continues about Dominik getting whipped at WrestleMania and says no one is perfect and just like everyone else, Rey made a ton of mistakes. He knows this because he is looking at one. As Cody turns to lay the microphone down, Dominik sneaks up and slaps Cody right in the face and then hid behind Rhea to get out of the ring. Miz started trying to talk to Cody and Cody smacked Miz in the head with his cast.

Zoey Stark VS. Natalya in a Money in the Bank qualifying match

Zoey gets the win after Trish Stratus kicked Natalya in the back of the knee.

Winner: Zoey Stark

Paul Heyman invites us to join him Friday night when a Jey will decide if he is staying in the Bloodline. Paul then says he believes Jey will choose and stand by his brother Solo.

Indu Sher VS. Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander

Prior to starting the match, Indu Sher threw Benjamin out and gave Cedric a hard clothesline and hurt him.

Winners: No Match

Damian Priest VS. Seth “Freakin” Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Great match but Finn did not honor his word to stay in the back. The end saw Rollins finally hitting the stomp on a slumped over Priest to get the win and retain the championship.

Winner and still WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Seth “Freakin” Rollins

After the match Finn comes in the ring and a stare down between Seth and Finn as Raw goes off the air.
