MITB in London becomes the highest-grossing arena event in WWE history

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque announced yesterday that Money In The Bank from The O2 Arena in London was the highest grossing arena event ever in the history of WWE, and that’s not just in the UK, but anywhere in the world.

Smackdown on Friday from the same location was also the highest-grossing Smackdown in WWE history, with high ticket prices contributing to these two records.

Levesque said that actual numbers will be released next week after the U.S. holiday. It’s expected that the numbers will be north of $2.5 million for these shows to claim these records.

Over 37,000 fans attended both Smackdown and Money In The Bank this weekend, making it a very successful trip across the pond. Sponsorship, merchandise, and social media also broke records for Money In The Bank.
