King and Queen of the Ring first round matches for Raw brand announced

First round matches for the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments that will take place on Raw were announced during the Backlash event.

Unlike previous years, WWE is treating these tournaments with more importance and added some heavy hitters in the qualifying matches.

In the men’s tournament, opening matches will include Drew McIntyre vs Finn Balor, Kofi Kingston vs Rey Mysterio, Ricochet vs Ilja Dragunov, and Gunther vs Sheamus.

The women’s tournament opening matches will have Zoey Stark vs Ivy Nile, Shayna Baszler vs Zelina Vega, Lyra Valkyria vs Asuka, and Iyo Sky vs Natalya.

The Smackdown matches are expected to be announced on Raw.

The finals of both tournaments will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 25.
