Kevin Owens to undergo knee surgery

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Kevin Owens has a knee injury and will be undergoing surgery.

What took place on Monday Night Raw this week was a way to write Owens off television for a while until he’s ready to be back. Meltzer writes that while the initial reports suggest that this is a minor surgery, the reality is that the severity of the problem will not be known until the surgeon opens up his knee and gets a clear look of where the problem is.

Owens, just like his former tag partner Sami Zayn, could be out for months if the knee injury is worse than originally thought.

The former Universal champion was pulled from the Mixed Match Challenge series leaving his partner Natalya alone for the moment. He is the third one to be replaced on this season of MMC following Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss.
