Kabuki Warriors return to NXT next week to defend WWE Women’s Tag Team titles

The WWE Women’s Tag Team titles are coming to NXT as former NXT Women’s champions Asuka and Kairi Sane will be defending their gold next week on NXT on USA Network.

The women’s tag team championship is the only title that is defended across all brands and while then-champions Sasha Banks and Bayley appeared on an episode of NXT after winning the titles earlier this year, they never defended the gold on the yellow brand.

Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke took on Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai last night on NXT with the winners getting the title shot. The match ended with Nox pinning Duke but their celebration was cut short by Asuka and Sane who interrupted via video. Sane told them that next week they have “no chance” as Asuka blew them a kiss.

Both Asuka and Sane are very familiar with NXT and Full Sail University having spent a considerable amount of time in NXT, each of them winning the NXT Women’s titles. Asuka remained undefeated in NXT and had the surrender the belt when she moved to the main roster.
