JBL returns to WWE…and brings Baron Corbin with him!

With Rey Mysterio going to Smackdown, it was only fitting that a Smackdown star went to Raw…and the red brand got two for the price of one as JBL returned and brought Baron Corbin with him.

Layfield bestowed the “wrestling god” term onto Corbin, and showered him with compliments, saying that Corbin could be a big success in any wrestling era.

There were rumors that JBL was returning to WWE in an on-screen role and the first hint was given in early September when a white limo pulled up backstage after Corbin lost to Shinsuke Nakamura on Smackdown. Corbin got into the limo and he wasn’t seen on TV ever since.

Layfield stepped away from his Smackdown commentary role in 2017 and made sporadic appearances on WWE television since then.
