India WWE live event set for January 2023 postponed

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the planned show in India on January 18 has been called off by Sony Six, WWE’s TV partner in the country.

WWE were going to hold a live event in Hyderabad, the first one in India since 2017, but Sony Six pulled the plug on it due to their upcoming merger with Zee, a major media company. Sony Six was going to fund the show so they had the final say on the event.

Meltzer said that the merger is expected to go through sometime in April and the show will eventually get the green light following the completion of the merger.
