Former WCW champion Sting no longer under a WWE deal

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that WWE Hall of Famer Sting is no longer under a WWE contract and is free to work wherever he wants.

Sting’s Mattel figure was pulled from production and after some investigation from The Major Wrestling Figure podcast, Mattel issued a statement to them saying, “Due to circumstances out of our control Sting needed to be removed from Legends Series 7. We’ll look to include this figure in a future wave if he becomes available to us again.”

Sting, who rarely uses social media, started being active again, with one notable Money In The Bank tweet and two related to All Elite Wrestling, raising some eyebrows.

Cody also replied with a GIF when The Major Wrestling Figure podcast issued the statement from Mattel, suggesting that AEW is scooping up the former WCW champion.

Sting started working for WWE in 2014 doing limited in-ring appearances. He eventually got his first and only WrestleMania match against Triple H at WrestleMania 31 and then had a WWE title shot against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions that year but he was seriously injured. He announced his retirement at his 2015 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
