Ford Motor Company sues John Cena over sale of Ford GT car

Ford Motor Company has sued WWE Superstar John Cena after he sold a 2017 Ford GT for $500,000 after signing an agreement that he would not sell the car in the first two years.

The story, reported by TMZ, says that Cena flipped the car after he received it from Ford and then sold it for a very hefty profit.

“Mr. Cena has unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorized resale flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity, and customer goodwill due to the improper sale,” the lawsuit, filed in Detroit, says.

Cena was selected from thousands of applicants to purchase the super car and now Ford is demanding that the former WWE champion hand over all the profit from the sale as well as other damages.

Replying to the lawsuit, John Cena said that he sold the car and other property to pay bills.
