ESPN taps Daniel Cormier to lead their WrestleMania 39 coverage

Former UFC Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be at WrestleMania, but won’t get in the ring for WWE.

Cormier has been tapped by ESPN to lead the coverage of WrestleMania for the sports giant. Cormier revealed the news himself in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

“I’m going to WrestleMania,” said Cormier. “The first week of April for ESPN, I’ll be leading the coverage for WrestleMania. I’m so excited about it.”

Cormier said that while he’s open to wrestling, his focus right now is commentary and he’s thankful that he’s getting more opportunities with ESPN.

The former champ might be doing some interviews for ESPN with WWE Superstars and said that he’s ready to take on Brock Lesnar if the opportunity presents itself!

“If Brock steps in my way?” Cormier asks with a laugh. “I’ll smack him upside his head.”
