Eric Bischoff “humbled” and “honored” with new WWE appointment

In his first public comments since being appointed an Executive Director at WWE in charge of the Smackdown brand, Eric Bischoff said that he is humbled and honored with the appointment.

“Equally humbled, honored, and more excited than I can possibly articulate here,” Bischoff wrote. “Thank you so much for the overwhelming support. It’s been an amazing journey and the best is yet to come.”

Bischoff, who has not worked for a wrestling company since 2012, joins Paul Heyman as the newest executive in the company. Heyman will be in charge of Raw.

Both men will be at their respective shows this coming week although it’s not known if they will be making any on-camera appearances. While they have already started doing the work behind the scenes, their vision will obviously take time to translate on screen.

Scott Coker, the President of Bellator MMA, also tweeted about the appointments, saying, “Great job by @WWE getting @HeymanHustle & @EBischoff more involved in the product, I consider both men to be geniuses.”
