Dr. Chris Amann no longer working for WWE

PWInsider.com is reporting that Dr. Chris Amann, WWE’s senior ringside physician, is no longer working for the company after he gave notice and left this month.

Amann, who has worked with WWE since 2008, was in charge of all the other physicians and trainers on the road and at the WWE Performance Center.

The doctor is perhaps best known for suing CM Punk and Colt Cabana for defamation after their explosive podcast where Punk blamed him for many of the injuries and for missing a lump in his back which turned into a staph infection. Amann sued them for $4 million in damages but a judge ruled in favor of the defendants and Amann walked out empty handed.

Prior to joining WWE, he was one of the 2008 U.S. Olympic team physicians.
