Cody won’t finish his story at WrestleMania as The Rock returns to take on Roman Reigns

Cody Rhodes will not get the chance to finish his story at WrestleMania as despite winning the Royal Rumble and making it obvious after who he was going after, Rhodes “gave up” his spot for none other than The Rock.

On Smackdown, Rhodes came face-to-face with the champion and wondered how finishing his story would eventually look like. He said that finishing his story will mean taking everything that Roman Reigns has and not just the Undisputed WWE title. Rhodes said that he was coming after Roman…just not at WrestleMania.

Rhodes continued saying that before making this important decision, he talked with his family, friends, and peers. He had even consulted with someone that Roman Reigns knows very well.

The Rock then made a surprise appearance, coming out to a massive ovation from the Birmingham crowd. Rock shook Cody’s hand and hugged him, whispered something in his ear, and Cody exited the ring.

The Rock and Reigns then faced off to close Smackdown.
