Christian to face Del Rio at SummerSlam for World Heavyweight title

The World Heavyweight title match at SummerSlam was decided on yesterday’s Smackdown as Christian became the number one contender for Alberto Del Rio’s gold.

The former World, Intercontinental, and tag team champion earned his spot in one of the SummerSlam main events by defeating Rob Van Dam and Randy Orton in a three way match.

Captain Charisma is a two time World Heavyweight champion, winning the title by also defeating Alberto Del Rio at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in 2011 only to lose it five days later to Randy Orton on Smackdown. He won the title again at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view after Orton was disqualified for kicking him in the groin but then lost it once again to Orton at SummerSlam a month later.
