Charlotte Flair undergoes surgery for torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus

Charlotte Flair underwent knee surgery after she tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus during an episode of Smackdown last month while wrestling Asuka.

Flair had surgery at the Andrews Sports & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Writing a post on social media, Flair said that it took her several days and many tears to get over what happened and it was the first time ever that she was truly scared.

“Scared of the unknown but also feeling like I’m losing what I’m most proud of and that’s being an athlete,” she wrote. “I don’t like showing physical weakness and this has left me feeling exposed. A process I know I will grow from but a very new one to me.”

She admitted that it was a huge blow for her mentally and also physically but she is trying to stay positive.

“I can’t thank this year’s Smackdown locker-room enough. I enjoyed every second and will be rooting from the sidelines,” she continued. “I have been a bad guy for most of my career but this year was different for me. I CHERISHED every hug, high-five and fist pump this year at live events and for the first time in my career felt comfortable in my own boots being the good guy.”

She promised to work hard and come back the best version of herself, noting climbing her own mountain will be her greatest test yet.

She signed off the message with her real name Ashley.
