Charlotte Flair “suspended” and “fined” for attack on WWE referee

Charlotte Flair received a storyline suspension and fine for her actions stemming from last night’s Raw.

Flair, who wrestled her first match in almost two months yesterday, lost to Asuka after Ripley interfered from ringside. Flair had Asuka locked in the Figure 8 but Ripley broke the move by pulling Flair’s hands. The referee did not see it and then Flair tried to drag Ripley in the ring, only for Asuka to kick her and pin her with a crucifix.

Following the match, Flair took her frustration on WWE referee Eddie Orengo, hip tossing him across the ring, kicking him and striking him from behind.

Other WWE referees tried to break up the fight but Charlotte continued her attack on Orengo, punishing him for not seeing Ripley breaking her Figure 8.

On Raw Talk after the show ended, Adam Pearce then announced that Flair has been indefinitely suspended and fined $100,000 for attacking the referee.
