Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo had a rough night at the NXT non-televised live event yesterday in Sudbury, Ontario in Canada and ended up stretchered out of the main event.
Stacks was part of an eight-man tag match featuring Birthright against Shawn Spears, Tavion Heights, Shiloh Hill, and Tony D’Angelo when he took a back body drop from the ring over the top rope and and onto the floor. Some eye witness reports also said that Stacks actually hit his head on the ring post before landing badly on the floor, with the crowd gasping in horror.
The ringside medics immediately came out to help Lorenzo as the match was called off. He was put in a neck brace and then on a stretcher before he was wheeled out of public view. The show ended earlier than expected.
Shawn Spears took the mic afterward and addressed the fans, saying unfortunately accidents happen sometimes and they’re sorry they had to end night like that. He thanked the fans for coming out to the show and before he managed to finish the sentence, the rest of Birthright came out again to beat on the faces. They eventually regained the upper hand and drove Uriah Connors through a table to send the crowd home happy.
