Cena says he’s been gone “for too long” and hopefully back “soon”

Former TMZ camera guy and co-host of the Hollywood Raw Podcast Adam Glyn caught up with John Cena at the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfronts in New York yesterday and asked the former 16-time champion if he’s coming back to WWE.

Cena said that he’s aware that in “WWE years” he turns 20 soon and called that a “pretty big thing.” He said that he was in the same class with Batista, Randy Orton, and Brock Lesnar, all of whom celebrated 20 years in WWE this year.

“I’m aware that that’s coming around the corner and who knows?” Cena said. Cena made his WWE TV debut on June 27 on an episode of Smackdown.

Admitting that he’s been gone for “too long,” Cena said that there’s a lot of stuff going on right now and is not in a position to turn down any offers.

“So, I don’t know when I’ll be back but hopefully it’s soon. I’ve been gone for too long,” he noted.

Cena returned last year at the Money In The Bank show to confront Roman Reigns and WWE did a “Summer of Cena” where he participated in most non-televised live events during the Summer.
