The number one contender for the WWE title will be decided on the New Year’s Day Smackdown which was taped last night at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The five Superstars who will be wrestling in a fatal 5-way match are Rey Mysterio, Mustafa Ali, Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, and AJ Styles. The winner of this match will be taking on the current champ Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble on January 27 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

So far there are three matches announced for the Royal Rumble apart from the two Rumble matches with the WWE, Universal, and Cruiserweight titles all on the line.
