Bayley successfully cashes in her MITB contract and wins the Smackdown Women’s title

It did not take long for Bayley to cash in her Money In The Bank contract.

The former Raw Women’s champion won the ladder match and the briefcase in the opening match of the pay-per-view and then took advantage of the mess that was left after Charlotte Flair beat Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Women’s title thanks to the assistance from Lacey Evans.

With both Flair and Evans beating up Lynch, Bayley made the save and attacked Flair, driving her face-first in the middle turnbuckle, knocking her out.

Bayley, who had the briefcase with her, then handed it over to the referee and told him she is cashing in for the Smackdown Women’s title.

With Flair still down, the referee rang the bell anyway. Bayley moved the still-unconscious Flair and then hit the elbow drop from the top rope to secure the victory.

This is Bayley’s first run with the Smackdown Women’s title and it is the second time in a row that the winner of the ladder match successfully cashed in on the same night. Last year, Alexa Bliss did it and beat Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s title.
