Bayley becomes number one contender for Raw Women’s title

Alexa Bliss will meet Bayley at SummerSlam next month after the former NXT Women’s champion defeated her friend Sasha Banks in a number one contenders match.

It looked like Sasha Banks was going to be the one going to Brooklyn as the challenger after a frog splash in honor of Eddie Guerrero, but Bayley reversed the pin attempt and held on for the three count.

Alexa Bliss was the one who defeated Bayley for the title at Payback back in April. Last year, Bayley also rolled into Brooklyn as the challenger for the NXT Women’s title, losing to Asuka. The Barclays Center is also the place where she won the NXT Women’s title from Sasha Banks at the first NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event, a match which gained highly positive reviews from the majority of wrestling fans.
