Amway Center starts advertising December dates, WWE on the way out

The Amway Center, the current host of the WWE ThunderDome, has started advertising events in December starting with the Orlando Solar Bears games for the new ECHL season and tickets for the games have gone on sale.

While the first date is listed at December 29, the Orlando Magic are scheduled to move in earlier for their NBA season which means that WWE is surely on the way out of the Amway and have to relocate the ThunderDome.

It’s impossible to assemble and dismantle the ThunderDome twice a week for Raw and Smackdown so WWE has to find an arena which doesn’t host any sports team somewhere in the United States, ideally in a major travel hub to allow easy traveling for its Superstars and staff.

While remaining in Florida would be ideal, there’s not much choice as all major arenas will probably be occupied with sports for the new season. WWE has reportedly already looked at venues in different states and the last event scheduled so far at the ThunderDome is the Raw after the Survivor Series on the 23rd. The agreement with Amway expires on November 24.

WWE is not looking to resume touring next year so they will continue filming in a fixed location for the foreseeable future.
