Aleister Black undergoes groin surgery

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that former NXT champion Aleister Black underwent groin surgery after an injury he suffered at a non-televised NXT live event in Las Vegas last week while wrestling Tommaso Ciampa.

Black is part of the main event of NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV in a triple threat match against Johnny Gargano and NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa but that match is just two weeks away which means that Black is in a race against time to recover as quickly as humanly possible if he wants to be involved.

It’s not known if Black would even be medically cleared to return so close after undergoing surgery and the former champ might miss NXT’s biggest show of the year.
