Alberto Del Rio fired from WWE

Alberto Del Rio got fired from WWE yesterday for his unprofessional conduct after an incident with a WWE employee according to WWE.COM.

“WWE announced the release of Alberto Del Rio due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee,” read a short statement on the official WWE website. There was no usual good luck in future endeavors message which suggests that what happened was serious enough for the company to part ways on bad terms with Del Rio.

While nothing is confirmed why he was let go, rumors are that the incident happened backstage at Smackdown tapings on Tuesday where Del Rio slapped an employee who works for the social media department at WWE. Again, these are all rumors.

Del Rio signed with the WWE in 2009 and after spending a year at Florida Championship Wrestling he was promoted to the Smackdown brand, making his debut in June 2010. During his time in WWE, Del Rio won the WWE title twice, the World Heavyweight title twice, the Money In The Bank ladder match in 2011 and also was the 2011 Royal Rumble winner.
