Akam and Rezar of AOP released from WWE

WWE announced last night that Akam and Rezar of The Authors of Pain have been released from their WWE deals.

“WWE has come to terms on the release of Akam and Rezar (AOP). We wish them all the best in their future endeavors,” a short message read on WWE.COM.

The Authors of Pain made their NXT debut in June 2016 and remained in NXT until 2018 where they won the NXT Tag Team titles once and had a couple of pretty good matches. But moving to the main roster proved to be harder than it seems for the duo and despite winning the Raw Tag Team titles once as well, things did not go according to plan for them.

Unfortunately, two separate long-term injuries to both Akam and Rezar forced them off television with the latest injury coming in March of this year when Rezar tore his biceps. The two have not been seen on WWE television since then.
