AJ Styles to put his career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble

AJ Styles will be putting up his career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble.

The Ring General is looking to make it three out of three in ending careers, following his wins against Goldberg and John Cena in their retirement matches.

Gunther did not want to wrestle Styles at the Rumble and told him he had no incentive to do so since he already beat him, but he changed his mind after he told Styles he would reconsider if he put his career on the line.

Styles, who already said that 2026 will be his last year wrestling, had until the end of the night to consider the high-stakes match.

In a backstage segment towards the end of the broadcast, Styles found Raw GM Adam Pearce and told him that he talked to his wife who told him to go kick Gunther’s ass.

Pearce then made the match official for the Royal Rumble.
