AJ Styles returning on next week’s Smackdown

For the first time in three months, former WWE champion AJ Styles will be returning to Smackdown next week.

Styles was last seen at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland, in June, losing an I Quit match to Cody Rhodes and disappeared from television after that.

He has been wrestling occasionally during his time away from television, appearing for Pro Wrestling NOAH in July for a match against Naomichi Marufuji and also appearing at several WWE non-televised live events.

His current WWE contract is believed to be expiring at the end of 2024.
