2014 Rumble and Chamber pay-per-view buys down from last year

The Royal Rumble received 445,000 buys worldwide this year, down almost 100,000 buys from last year’s show which was headlined by The Rock and CM Punk in a WWE title match.

This year’s Rumble featured the return of Batista and a WWE World Heavyweight title match between Randy Orton and John Cena. It will probably be forever remembered as the night CM Punk worked his last WWE match since he walked out of the company the day after.

Meanwhile, the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view had 203,000 buys worldwide, also down from last year’s show by about 10,000 buys. Last year CM Punk and The Rock also headlined that show with the main event this year being an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE World Heavyweight title.
