Who owns the Broken Hardy gimmick?

Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting that there seems to be a fight on who owns the Broken Matt Hardy gimmick, a gimmick which Matt has created during his time in TNA.

TNA says that they own the intellectual property of the gimmick and Matt cannot use it anywhere outside TNA. Meanwhile, Hardy is claiming that while TNA certainly owns any of the footage that was filmed with all his gimmicks during his TNA stint, he still owns all the names and characters.

The Broken gimmick – created in May of last year – is what pretty much set Matt Hardy apart from the rest of the roster and it would be a big problem for him if he cannot use it wherever he lands after TNA. Both Matt and Jeff will be free agents at Midnight tonight.
