Rich Swann signs long-term deal with Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling announced yesterday that former WWE Cruiserweight champion Rich Swann has signed a long-term deal with the company.

“We are absolutely delighted to announce that @GottaGetSwann has signed a long-term contract with IMPACT Wrestling,” said a tweet on the Impact Twitter account.

Swann joined the company in June and was part of the Impact tapings leading up to Slammiversary where he was supposed to wrestle in a four-way match. Unfortunately, a concussion he suffered at an independent wrestling event days before Slammiversary kept him away from the show as doctors did not clear him to compete.

Up until February, Swann was the WWE Cruiserweight champion but then he was arrested after an incident with his wife, the current Impact Knockouts champion Su Yung. Swann was charged with domestic battery and false imprisonment but his wife later dropped the charges and with no sufficient evidence, Swann was free. Despite the outcome, WWE still released Swann from his contract, making him the second Cruiserweight champion in a row to be dismissed following Enzo Amore.
