Motor City Machine Guns sign new deal with Impact Wrestling

The Motor City Machine Guns have signed a new deal with Impact Wrestling according to a story published on Sports Illustrated. The story, by Justin Barrasso, did not reveal the terms of the new deal.

“We still love pro wrestling,” Alex Shelley said. “We’re still excited about it, and we love wrestling for Impact – and that chance to work with the Impact locker room.”

His tag team partner, Chris Sabin, added, “Impact is like family to us. Scott D’Amore was my trainer. It’s home.”

The three-time Impact Tag Team champions are also currently the GCW Tag Team and NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team champions as well. Their new deal will allow them to continue to wrestle for other promotions as well.

“This is the first full-time pro wrestling contract I’ve signed in almost five years,” said Shelley. “I pursued physical medicine, and earning that degree was something I needed to prove to myself. Once I had that security and that confidence, I wanted to be back in Impact. It has the most familial bond. There are people here that have seen me grow up from a teenager to a grown-ass man. That’s special to me.”

The two, who lost their Impact Tag Team titles to Ace Austin and Chris Bey of The Bullet Club a month ago, will be getting another crack at the titles on Thursday, March 30 at the Impact x NJPW: Multiverse United event during Mania weekend. It will be a four-way match also featuring Aussie Open and TMDK.
