Kenny Omega wins Impact World title at Rebellion

In a result widely expected, Kenny Omega defeated Rich Swann yesterday at Rebellion to become the new Impact World champion, adding another title to his collection. Omega is already the AEW World and AAA Mega champion.

The 23-minute match headlined Rebellion and was probably one of the most important matches in Impact history. Omega won the match after a One Winged Angel.

The match had two referees, with Brian Hebner representing Impact and Aubrey Edwards representing AEW, but the match ended with no controversy and a clean finish as promised.

What happens to Impact World title remains to be seen now but with the win, Omega is rumored to be more involved in upcoming Impact Wrestling shows. AEW did not promote the match that much on their weekly broadcasts and Swann never appeared on Dynamite to face Omega.

Swann’s reign as Impact World champion came to a close after 184 days. He won it at Bound For Glory in October of last year.
