Davey Richards leaves GFW to continue medical school

Former 5-time TNA World Tag Team title holder Davey Richards announced on Twitter that he asked for and got his release from Global Force Wrestling to concentrate on becoming a doctor.

“I have nothing but good memories and great things to say about my time there,” Richards wrote. “Truth is, I love wrestling. But my goal is to be a doctor,” he continued, adding that he has managed his time doing both school, his job as a paramedic, being a dad, and a professional wrestler as long as he could.

Richards said that the demands of the last couple of years of medical school has pretty much brought him to today, where he has to choose either becoming a doctor or continuing as a professional wrestler.

“So with GFW’s blessing, I have chosen medical school. Thank you to everyone at GFW and its great fans for an awesome journey.”
