Carmella reveals miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy

WWE Superstar Carmella today revealed that she suffered an early miscarriage in September and today she was treated for an ectopic pregnancy.

“I never thought something like this would happen to me, especially after suffering from an early miscarriage in September. Nothing can prepare you for this news after getting a positive pregnancy test,” Carmella wrote on a post on social media.

She said that she spent 12 hours in the ER on Saturday after experiencing sharp pains on her left side and after several tests and ultrasounds she received the news that this was an abnormal pregnancy.

Carmella noted that she was not looking for any sympathy and she knows she will recover mentally, physically, and emotionally but wanted those who are suffering from the same heartbreak that they are not alone.

“For anyone dealing with ANY type of pregnancy loss, I want you to know your feelings and emotions are valid, there is NOTHING wrong with you and you are not alone,” she wrote.

Dwayne Johnson remains top of the U.S. box office with Black Adam

Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam movie reigned supreme on the box office charts in the United States for the second week in a row, bringing in an additional $27,700,333 this weekend, a huge drop of 58.7% from the prior weekend.

The movie, which cost nearly $200 million to produce, now stands with a total of $111,139,000 nationwide with an additional $139,000,000 internationally for a worldwide total of $250,139,000.

Johnson’s top spot will end this week though as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever comes to the big screen this weekend.

“Thank you everyone! #BlackAdam #1 movie in the world for the second weekend in a row,” tweeted Johnson after the numbers came out. “Strong numbers considering Teth Adam was a little known DC character (to the masses) as well as Justice Society. All 5 superheroes never existed on the big screen until now.”

NJPW gives up on Karl Anderson defending title on November 5

New Japan Pro-Wrestling have given up on Karl Anderson appearing on the November 5 event to defend his NEVER Openweight champion and has taken his match off the card officially.

“We apologise to fans who had been looking forward to watching Anderson wrestle,” the statement read. “NJPW holds its champions to the highest standard of professionalism. We deeply apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by this matter.”

Anderson will be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia instead of Osaka, Japan, and will be teaming up with Gallows and Styles to take on Judgment Day in a six-man tag team match.

NJPW said that Anderson has still not replied to any of their messages for the Battle Autumn event. Last week they ordered him to either defend the title or vacate it, a request which was met in the negative by Anderson who said he will not vacate anything and will defend the title whenever he wants.

Emma signs new WWE deal

Tenille Dashwood, who’s back using the name Emma in WWE, has officially signed a new WWE contract and will be part of the Smackdown roster moving forward.

Emma was the one who answered Ronda Rousey’s open challenge last Friday on Smackdown but lost the match after Rousey locked in the armbar.

“5 years ago today I was heartbroken feeling like my dream had come to an end. Today my heart is so full,” Emma wrote in a post on Instagram. “I’m overwhelmed by the amount of support I have. You guys are the best. Now… I’ve got some unfinished business to take care of! I’m home baby!!”

She worked for WWE between 2011 and 2017 before she was released in October. She went on to wrestle for Ring of Honor and later Impact Wrestling under her real name during her time away from WWE.

Jimmy Uso says whole family is looking out for Ava Raine

TMZ cameras caught up with Jimmy Uso and he was asked about Ava Raine’s debut on NXT earlier this week. Raine, real name Simone Johnson, is part of the larger family as her father The Rock is cousins with The Usos and Roman Reigns.

Uso said that he’s ready to see what Raine can do down in NXT and also ready for her to “pop off and represent The Bloodline.” He noted that they’re all family and they look out for her and everyone is behind her.

The current WWE Tag Team champion continued by saying that the sky is the limit for the 21-year-old fourth generation star.

“She’s got the workhorse in her like we all do. It runs deep in the blood, and I’m excited for her future. I can’t wait to see where this takes her,” Uso told TMZ.

Raine was unveiled as the newest member of The Schism during NXT on USA Network.

30,000 tickets sold surpassed for the 2023 Royal Rumble

WWE has surpassed 30,000 tickets sold for the Royal Rumble next year at the Alamodome, with ticket tracking service @WrestleTix reporting that there have been a total of 30,118 tickets distributed so far.

The Alamodome is not being used in full with around 35,000 seats available but that of course could expand if the demand is there. Currently there are just over 4,000 tickets which have been placed back on the market for resale, which is quite a big percentage.

The Royal Rumble will be held on Saturday, January 28 and officially kicks off the road to WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles. The show is headlined by two Royal Rumble over-the-top rope matches where each winner receives a title shot at WrestleMania.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.com.

Cody Rhodes says he didn’t leave AEW because of Bucks, Omega, or Punk

Addressing a fan who tweeted that Cody Rhodes left AEW because of the other members of The Elite, the former TNT champion shot down that common misconception and denied he left the promotion he helped found because of them or even due to CM Punk’s arrival.

“I didn’t leave because of the Bucks/Kenny,” Rhodes replied.

“I’m forever bonded to those men over what we created and I remain very proud of it, and I didn’t leave because of/or have issues with Punk. We got along,” he wrote.

Rhodes continued, “Not money, not booking, just a personal issue and my wanting to go for the big one.”

The “big one” Cody is referring to is the WWE championship, something that no one in his family has ever captured.

Shinsuke Nakamura to take on The Great Muta at NOAH show on New Year’s Day

Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH today announced that The Great Muta will be taking on former NXT champion and WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura at the NOAH The New Year 2023 event in a one-on-one match.

The show takes place at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on January 1, 2023.

WWE does not usually allow their contracted talent to wrestle, or even appear, in other promotions but The Great Muta is in his retirement tour and this surely is a big opportunity for Nakamura.

Reacting to the news on Twitter, Nakamura wrote, “This is Miracle.”

Sheamus marries fiancé Isabella Revilla in New York

Former WWE champion Sheamus got married to his fiancé Isabella Revilla yesterday in New York City. The couple originally got engaged last year in Ireland.

Drew McIntyre was his best man while AEW star Miro was one of the groomsmen. All of them were wearing the Irish kilts for the ceremony. Other Superstars in attendance included Matt Riddle, Damian Priest, and Naomi, along with Miro’s wife CJ “Lana” Perry.

McIntyre’s absence from Smackdown last night was due to the wedding ceremony and Sheamus was written off TV last week as Imperium attacked him, explaining why he won’t be on television for a few weeks.

The two live in Nashville, Tennessee.

NXT brings back Halloween battle royal for non-televised live event

NXT brought back the Halloween battle royal last night at the non-televised live event in Melbourne, Florida, although this time it was the ladies who had all the fun.

18 women from NXT and the WWE Performance Center took part in the battle royal where all the women wore a costume for the match. Cora Jade was AJ Lee, Roxanne Perez was Bayley, Wendy Choo was a sumo wrestler, Valentina Feroz was a nurse, Thea Hail was Andre Chase, Sloane Jacobs was Poison Ivy, Zoey Stark was Triple H, Jacy Jayne was The Undertaker, Gigi Dolin was Chucky, Sol Palmer was Dr Evil, Dani Palmer was Mini Me, Nikkita Lyons was She Hulk, Jakara Jackson was Jessica Rabbit, Lash Legend was a cat, Valerie Lourdes was Lola Bunny, Anna Keefer was a ballet dancer, Sarah Baer was Harley Quinn, and Lea Mitchell was Supergirl.

Thea Hail, the 19-year-old Chase U student won the match and earned an NXT Women’s title shot against Mandy Rose in the main event. While Hail won the battle royal, she came up short in her quest to become champion as Rose retained.

Raw Women’s title match added to Crown Jewel

A women’s match was added to the Crown Jewel premium live event for next week, the first among the seven matches announced for this premium live event.

Raw Women’s champion Bianca Belair will be defending her title against Bayley in a last woman standing match and so far this is the only match featuring women on the show.

Also announced last night was The Usos vs Ridge Holland and Butch for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles.

Crown Jewel takes place on Saturday, November 5 live from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. It will air exclusively on Peacock and WWE Network.

Mike Tyson to be guest commentator for Rampage next week

Mike Tyson is returning to All Elite Wrestling next week during the live Rampage from Atlantic City.

The baddest man on the planet will not get in the ring though, but will be behind the commentary desk as the special guest commentator for the show.

Tyson has appeared multiple times before in AEW where he reignited his WWE feud with Chris Jericho and then was also present at Double or Nothing two years ago to present Cody Rhodes with the brand new TNT title.

There were rumors back then that Jericho and Tyson would have some sort of a match but it never materialized.

Holy Ucey! The Bloodline break character after Sami Zayn floors them with one-liner!

It was a rough night for the whole Bloodline and not because of all the infighting between them but because they couldn’t keep a straight face in one of the most hilarious segments in the history of Smackdown.

And that was all thanks to Honorary Uce Sami Zayn, who made it his mission to find a way to crack a smile from his team mates every single week they’re on television together.

In a heated opening segment where Reigns told Zayn and Jey to fix their issues, Sami offered his hand of friendship but Jey told him he’s a “fake ass Uso” and he’ll never be family. When Zayn pointed out that the Head of the Table wanted peace, Jey responded that he doesn’t give a damn what the Head of the Table wants.

Cue to “ooooh’s” from the fans and the start of the comedy. Zayn, despite being thrown under the bus by Jey, wanted to make Reigns happy and actually said that Jey didn’t mean to say that. Jey hasn’t been himself and said that he wasn’t “feeling Ucey” lately.

A serious-looking Reigns couldn’t hold it after that comment and burst out laughing as Jey, acting angry, wasn’t able to hold it either. Putting his hands on his face and turning away from the camera multiple times, Jey had a very, very hard time not to laugh as the rest of the Bloodline cracked smiles.

Reigns told Jey to find his “inner Ucey” again and with Jey turning yet again to hide his face from the camera, Roman made him turn and to “stay here” and told him that if this continues, he’ll remove the “honorary” from Sami’s shirt and change his name to Sami Uso.

Smackdown TV report for 10/28/2022

Arena: Enterprise Center
City: St. Louis, Missouri

The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland & Butch) VS. Solo Sikoa & Sami Zayn

As Butch sets Sami up for a moonsault, Jey Uso pulls Sami out of the ring and the two start to argue. Solo comes around and knocks Butch off the top rope and tried to stop the argument between Jey and Sami. At the referee’s 6 count, Ridge comes through and knocks Solo and Jey to the ground and Sami rolls back in the ring and attempts to pick Butch up but Butch rolls Sami up in the small package and gets the win.

Winners: The Brawling Brutes

After the match, the Bloodline continue to argue with Jey and Jimmy in a stare down as the Tribal Chief’s music hits and Roman comes to the ring. Roman tells Jey he needs to find his “inner Ucey,” or he is changing Sami’s name to Sami Uso.

The New Day VS. Maximum Male Models

Woods pins Mansoor.

Winners: The New Day

In the back, Kayla interviews Sonya Deville and Kayla asks if she was going to answer Ronda’s open challenge her in a few minutes and Sonya says Liv is definitely not answering the challenge and just as she says that, Liv runs in and attacks Sonya. Officials arrive to try and break the fight up.

Braun Strowman is shown and says he is excited about his match with Omos and Omos might be a little bigger, but Strowman will prove he is stronger and is the true Monster among men.

Ronda Rousey VS. Emma for the Smackdown Women’s Championship

Ronda raked the eyes of Emma behind the referee’s back and hits Piper’s Pit and then put Emma in the armbar lock for the win.

Winner and Still Smackdown Women’s Champion: Ronda Rousey

Natalya confronts Ronda Rousey and said if she answered her challenge, she would be champion right now. Shayna Basler attacks and chokes out Natalya.

Legado Del Fantasma VS. Hit Row & Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke hits the Kinshasa for the win.

Winners: Hit Row & Shinsuke Nakamura

Kayla was interviewing L.A. Knight and Ricochet came in and told him someone was going to shut his mouth if he doesn’t quit acting like he owns the place.

Karrion Kross VS. Madcap Moss

Kross hits Moss with a forearm to the back of Moss’ head.

Winner: Karrion Kross

After the match, Kross locked Moss in a Kross Jacket and took the microphone and told Drew McIntyre that Moss put up a better fight then he did. As he chokes Moss out, he refuses to let go while officials come to try to get him off Moss and finally Kross lets Moss go.

Kayla interviews Rey Mysterio who faces Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship next week on Smackdown. He said he was excited about being back on Smackdown and challenging for the Intercontinental Championship. Just then, Imperium attacks Rey.

Bray Wyatt comes to the ring to cut another promo. A figure shown on the big screen as Bray was talking and called Bray a liar and said he will never be able to hide from his Uncle Howdy.

Tenille Dashwood returns to WWE as Emma

Tenille Dashwood returned to WWE last night on Smackdown, reprising her role as Emma, as she answered Ronda Rousey’s open challenge for the Smackdown Women’s title.

Unfortunately for Emma, things didn’t go her way though and lost her first match in the company since 2017 after she tapped out to Rousey’s armbar.

The Australian Dashwood was lately part of the Impact Wrestling roster but left the company in July of this year.

Emma was a big part of the early days of NXT and then had a short run in the main roster before she was eventually released. A change of gimmick to Emmalina was hyped for weeks back then but that eventually never happened.

Dashwood tweeted “Home” and a love emoji after her Smackdown appearance.

Rampage TV Report for 10/28/22

AEW Rampage, Friday 10/28/22

Arena: Mohegan Sun

City: Uncasville, CT

Last Week’s Rating: 480,000 overall; 0.13 in 18-49 demo

It’s Friday Night, and you know what that means…  it’s time for our Rampage Review!

…..

Jon Moxley vs Matt Menard, World Title Eliminator

Backstory: Yuta was double-booked with a prior NJPW commitment, so his tag was changed to this.  Menard gets a world title shot if he… sorry, couldn’t keep a straight face… wins

Hard to think of a better way to diminish title shots.  Or of a better way to waste Moxley’s time.  Throwing cups of water into the ocean would be more productive.

A bunch of early interference led to Menard crotching Moxley as the first break beckoned.

Powerbomb off the top from Menard after yet more interference, into a crab, Moxley finally getting the ropes as the crowd chanted his name.  Cutter out-of-nowhere leaving both on their backs in the middle.

Moxley then blasted Menard via KKL, to the corner, superplex, leg hooked, kickout at 2, straight into an ankle lock, Menard kicked him away briefly but the champ hit right back with a Regal Knee for another two-count.  Never letting go of Menard, Mox transitioned straight into kick-your-head-in stomps, bringing Angelo Parker in to be hit with a cutter mid-ring, right in front of the ref.

Taking advantage, Menard hit a ddt, then his own really weak stomps to the face, from which Moxley ripped him down into the rear naked choke for the quick tap.

Moxley’s music had barely kicked in when Stokely Hathaway quickly hit the ramp along with Moriarty.  Next Wednesday, does Moxley want to go one-on-one with Lee?  The crowd booed this question.  A Moriarty package played sort-of explaining who Moriarty is and why he joined the Firm.  More boos.

A ‘Moxley’ chant kicked up as he grabbed the mic to say that Lee was talented but hanging round with the wrong people.  After Wednesday, ‘You’re never gonna be the same kid!’ Great, quick, intense promo.  Mox hit the mat for push-ups as his music played properly and the segment ended.

WINNER: Jon Moxley

Excalibur announced the return of the annual Eliminator Tournament for a title shot at Winter is Coming.  The first entrant?  Dante Martin.

Jade Cargill promo while doing pull-ups.  Nyla has her belt and she’s ‘that bitch’.  Original.

Keith Lee vs Serpentico

Backstory: None

Powerbomb in about ten seconds.

Schiavone straight in to join Lee, asking about their upcoming title match with the Acclaimed.  Who beelined right to the ring, no rap.  Because Billy Gunn’s gone missing.  And they want to know where he is.

At which, Swerve appeared on the big-screen.  He’s also a director and his latest film is a horror involving Daddy Ass.  Strickland’s gonna make sure Billy’s not there for the rematch since he cost them the titles last time.

Strickland then pulled out pliers, presumably cutting Gunn’s finger off (his hands were tied behind his back).  This was so goofy it almost seemed like a spoof.  Yet was clearly supposed to be a hard-hitting angle.

WINNER: Keith Lee

JAS promo.  This was a re-shoot after Dynamite of the one with audio issues.  They all shouted.  Jericho reiterated his promise to go after anyone associated with ROH and the open challenge for Wednesday.

Madison Rayne vs Tay Melo

Backstory: Melo & Anna insulted Rayne & Skye Blue, cheated to win in a tag

Very synchronized exchange into a standing switch and grappling on the mat, Melo looking to attack the arm then slapping the taste out of Rayne.  Weak-looking trip from the vet, who avoided the charge in the corner but Tay met her up top with a shot to the face then dropped her back-first across the top buckle.

Break time.  Personality-wise, Tay has really improved.  She has poise and charisma and knows how to play the heel.

Rayne countered a suplex into a ddt as we returned, the crowd clapping as both struggled to their feet.  Rayne with slaps to the chest, elbow strike, neckbreaker, count of two.

Melo backed up into the corner, catching the vet with a boot but Rayne fired back with Tay up top, hitting an avalanche bulldog/cutter for another two.  Tay missed a pumpkick, Rayne grabbed a roll-up, then another two after a sliding lariat.

After an exchange of forearms in the corner, Melo hit a rising knee to the face then the Tay-KO for the win.

Very slow.  This was apparently Melo’s first singles match (at least on tv) since March.  She has to wrestle more regularly if she’s going to fulfil her potential.

WINNER: Tay Melo

Lexi Nair with Ethan Page.  What were they thinking turning on MJF Wednesday?

Page reminded Max that the Firm made him the #1 contender.  But Max had changed plans, thus so would they.  Their attack will apparently keep MJF off TV next week and they’ll make sure he’s not 100% going in to the PPV.  Page is also in the Eliminator Tournament.  Which he’ll win and go on to do something Max won’t – beat Jon Moxley.  Good promo and intensity from Page.  It’s a shame the way he’s been used.

(This is pure conjecture and probably a little paranoia – but JR twice mentioned Tony Khan putting Moxley in a bad position – firstly by making him wrestle Menard knowing JAS would interfere, then by having to face Moriarty next week with Full Gear coming up quickly.  Between that and the Elite vid with the burning AEW logo the other day, they can’t possibly be thinking of making Khan an on-screen character based around Brawl Out, can they?)

Matt Taven vs Wardlow, TNT Title

Apparently FTR are a big reason the Kingdom have been brought in to the company.

Very good promo from Wardlow prior to the match, putting over both himself and the powerbomb.

Surprisingly, Taven is the same size as Wardlow, catching the champ with a dropkick early after a leapfrog/dropdown sequence but Wardlow rebounded quickly with a huge hip-toss, shoulders to the gut and shots to the face in the corner.  Before flinging Taven outside like a ball of paper.

Where Bennett attacked Wardlow then hid behind Maria, allowing Taven to strike with a dive, then Bennett flung the champ knee-first into the ringsteps.  Taven striking with a frog-splash across the same knee back inside.

The amount of interference lately in this company is gross.

Battling back as we came back, Wardlow was firing away but blasted with a Taven running-knee.  Back to the top, Wardlow moved, then hauled Taven up onto the shoulders to be dropped via F-10 and blasted with a lariat, overhead belly-to-belly and a one-armed spinebuster.

With the Symphony gearing up, Maria took to the apron: Wardlow bridged out of a quick roll-up attempt, then drilled Taven with the first of four powerbombs.  After the second, Bennett thought about interfering but locked eyes with the champ and thought better of it.

Though he did attack from behind immediately afterward.  Bringing the other half of WarJoe to the ring to smash through the new arrivals.  After which Powerhouse Hobbs’ music hit, which seemed a good thing until the Embassy attacked from behind.  Sigh.

Cage and Hobbs held up the ROH and TNT title belts respectively to end the show.  If you can erase all the ROH stuff from your mind, these should at least make for good feuds.

This was a very entertaining main event which made the TNT Champ look better than he has for months.

WINNER: Wardlow

Next Dynamite:

  • Darby Allin vs Jay Lethal
  • Orange Cassidy vs Luchasaurus vs Rey Fenix, All-Atlantic Title
  • Renee sits down with Britt Baker & Saraya
  • Jericho vs a former ROH champ, ROH Title
  • ‘Daddy Ass Bday Bash’
  • Jon Moxley vs Lee Moriarty
  • Jade Cargill vs Marina Shafir, TBS Title
  • Presumably the Eliminator Tournament will start

Next Rampage:

  • Mike Tyson will make an appearance on commentary
  • All-Atlantic-City dreammatch – All-Atlantic Champion’s choose

Overall impressions

Tony Khan promised that in October Rampage was going to get a renewed sense of purpose – more stars, live shows.  Instead, the company presented arguably their worst line-up to date.  While a baffling number of talents sit on the side-lines.

To illustrate the point, here are the guys and girls who didn’t appear on TV this week:

  • Dante Martin
  • Hikaru Shida
  • Hook
  • Isiah Kassidy
  • John Silver
  • Lance Archer
  • Miro
  • Ortiz
  • Pac
  • Ricky Starks
  • Rush
  • Trent Beretta

That’s 12, not counting Sting who I’m assuming is taking a legit break, and being very liberal with ‘appeared on TV’.

Throw in the returning Bucks & Kenny Omega, along with the rumoured signings of Bandido & Juice Robinson, and there’s no reason the company can’t present – if not an ‘A’ show – at least a good ‘B+’ every Friday.

We live in hope.

Check Out

  • Wardlow vs Matt Taven

Thanks for reading.  Have a great weekend!

Mandy Rose not happy with PWI Top 150 Women’s list placing

Mandy Rose just crossed the one-year mark as the NXT Women’s champion but Rose was not happy with her placing in the PWI Top 150 Women’s list where she placed #21.

Rose defeated Raquel Rodriguez at Halloween Havoc last year to win her first title in WWE and then unified the NXT and NXT UK Women’s titles at Worlds Collide, beating Meiko Satomura and Blair Davenport in a triple threat match.

“Robbed,” Rose tweeted with an emoji of a raised eyebrow and rolling eyes, along with an image of her placing on the list.

The Toxic Attraction leader had a stellar year after some disappointment of moving back to NXT from the main roster.

Smackdown on FS1 tonight headlined by Reigns appearance and Rousey match

Smackdown tonight will be airing on FS1 instead of FOX because of the MLB World Series and WWE is loading up the broadcast with some heavyweights.

Undisputed WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns will be returning to the show after a few weeks absence while Ronda Rousey will be defending her Smackdown Women’s title in an open challenge. The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa teams up with Sami Zayn to take on Ridge Holland and Butch of the Brawling Brutes while Hit Row will be joined by a mystery partner as they take on Legado Del Fantasma in a six-man tag team match.

Fans attending tonight’s broadcast will get two shows for the price of one as WWE is also taping next week’s Smackdown following the conclusion of the live show. With Crown Jewel happening on Saturday, November 5, Smackdown had to be pre-taped so everyone involved in Crown Jewel could make it Riyadh in time.
