AEW files to trademark the term WrestleDream

All Elite Wrestling has filed an application to trademark the name WrestleDream.

The application – to cover wrestling events and merchandise – was submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office on April 19 by attorney Bradley M. Stohry on behalf of All Elite Wrestling, LLC. No specific logo was included apart from the word ‘AEW WrestleDream’ in regular font for now.

WrestleDream was an event that took place in April 1991 promoted by Super World Sports and the then WWF with several stars from WWF and Japan participating in the show held at the World Hall in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan. Hulk Hogan main evented that show, defending the WWF title against SWS’ Yoshiaki Yatsu.

The only match announced so far for the show is Will Ospreay vs Hiroshi Tanahashi in the IWGP United States Heavyweight title number one contender’s tournament.

What are the slot machine strategies that can help to increase your winnings?

Slots are one of the most played games today because of how easy it is to play and their exciting features. It offers different themes to horror stories, and online slots have changed since then. Before logging into your account and playing, you must learn more about the game. These tips will help you to know and enjoy playing the fun even more.

Don’t trick the game

Slot machines are invented, and players are trying to make ways to trick the game into giving more money. You can try everything from checking the orders where the symbols come to manipulating the lever. Even if there is a slight chance to trick the game, it will not be the case. Tricking the game on online slot machines is impossible. When you play online slots like the joker123 apk you will use an RNG system and a specific RTP. It means it will only know whether you will win or lose is your luck. Besides trying to trick the game, you can enjoy spinning the game, and when you are lucky enough, you will win some money.

Understand the game

Playing on the slot when you visit a casino can be tempting. When you play the game with the cash, you will spin the button and think you have no idea what is happening. It will increase your winnings and know how you will choose slot games. You can study the paytable within the game. It will show you what the symbols are and what it’s worth. You will also know any symbols, features, and rounds that give the exact instructions. You must read one of the slot machines reviews online to see what you will have to expect in the game. Lastly, you can play the game for free money where you must know about the game first without risking your money. When you understand how the game works, you will have a chance to win the game.

Don’t chase the jackpot

Winning in the joker123 gaming will ensure that you will increase your winnings which are known to happen. That is why you must not say you will not play the game. You don’t have to watch spending all your money and expect that you can win more. There is an exception to the rule when the slot game payouts more. You can play longer and get a jackpot payout that is icing on the cake.

Know to be responsible

You will know the feeling when you are in front of the game and keep hoping that you can make more wins. But mostly, you will end up putting all your winnings into losing the game. There are better moves than this one that you must do. The best strategy that you can do is when you play the slot machine, and you must walk away once you gain your profit back. When you are playing within your means, you will play for fun and not be scared of money. When you play with money, you cannot afford to lose, and you will make a wrong decision and chase your losses.

You should use slot machine strategies to test when playing the game. When you still need to do it, register your account, make your first deposit, and get the bonuses you earn. You will find different game loads that cover all the styles and themes.

Eric Bischoff recounts his recent near-death experience

Eric Bischoff recounted on his latest episode of his podcast that he nearly died twice in two different hospitals due to a condition he has.

Bischoff said that he is hypoglycemic, a condition which the glucose level is lower than the usual range, and started taking Psyllium Husks, the soluble fiber which among other things, helps regulate blood sugar levels. Bischoff read some of the directions, but took more than the recommended dose and didn’t get to the part where it said not to take the maximum dose at the beginning.

“I get up…go to the bathroom, and I’m passing buckets of blood. Like lots of it,” Bischoff said. He continued saying that he eventually passed out but then he was taken to the hospital.

After arriving at the hospital, the doctors told him that they have to remove some parts of his intestines, however during surgery, he bled out and surgeons decided to halt the procedure.

“I used up all of the blood they had at the hospital or in the county where I live in,” Bischoff said. “They put me in a helicopter and life-flighted me up to Billings, Montana because they had better equipment and experienced surgeons up there and all that kind of stuff.”

After a few more days in ICU, his condition turned better but doctors weren’t sure they wanted to release him because they couldn’t find the cause of what happened and it’s a mystery.

“And I’m thinking…”It’s not a mystery, I know exactly what happened. I took those three big heaping tablespoons of Psyllium!'” Bischoff continued.

“The doctor did tell me…he said, ‘You almost died twice. You almost died in Cody and you almost died here!'”

WWE to celebrate 60th year anniversary of the WWE Championship this week

WWE will be celebrating the 60th year anniversary of the WWE Championship this week.

In recognition of the title’s 60-year milestone, WWE is kicking off WWE Championship Week, a week-long celebration on social media and WWE.COM. WWE’s social media channels will relive the “epic clashes, unforgettable moments and larger-than-life champions” that have made the WWE title an enduring force for more than half a century.

Special episodes of WWE Top 10 and WWE Playlist as well as original video features and never-before-seen photos are also planned.

The WWE title was first won by “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers on April 25, 1963.

Mercedes Mone extends her contract with Bushiroad for longer Japan stay

Mercedes Mone has extended her contract with Bushiroad and will continue working for New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Stardom according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

Mone said that she was eyeing a more permanent place of stay in the Land of the Rising Sun and described Japan as her “new home.” Wrestling in Japan has long been a dream of Mercedes but a decade in WWE prevented that from happening.

The former WWE Superstar has participated in three matches so far, winning the IWGP Women’s title in her first match against KAIRI in February and then successfully defended the title against AZM and Hazuki in a triple threat match earlier this month before losing it against Mayu Iwatani at Stardom’s All Star Grand Queendom today.

In the post-show press conference, Mone said that she would be at the NJPW Resurgence show in Long Beach, California next month.

It’s not known how long her new deal is.

Meanwhile, Gushcloud International and Gushcloud’s Japanese subsidiary, Gushcloud Japan Co., Ltd., announced that Mercedes signed a deal with them for talent management for upcoming marketing and sponsorships in Japan.

Tony Khan to appear on Wednesday’s Dynamite on TBS

AEW President Tony Khan will be making an appearance on Wednesday’s Dynamite although this time the company stopped short from plugging it as a “major announcement.”

While it’s unknown why Khan will be showing up, the launch of the new Saturday show is on the horizon along with the anticipated return of CM Punk, who has been off television since September’s All Out pay-per-view.

AEW is plugging Khan’s appearance simply stating, “We will hear from Tony Khan” on social media. Khan has not tweeted about it yet although he did announce Orange Cassidy vs Bandido for the AEW International title for Wednesday’s show.

William Regal addresses AEW departure “for the last time”

In a series of tweets now deleted, William Regal explained his reasoning why he left AEW and how his departure came to be.

Regal said that he knows that Tony Khan summed up a few conversations they had with quick answers and wanted everyone to know the truth.

He said Khan called him when he was having lots of family problems and when Regal found out, he told him to go take care of his family and that he shouldn’t be talking to him now. He said that they talked again two weeks later in Jacksonville and that’s where he explained why he wanted to leave and didn’t have an agenda or anything else.

“I had a great time in AEW and thankful for the time I spent there with many of my close friends and the amazing crew,” Regal wrote. “I just want to make that public so people stop misinterpreting it. It’s sad that people in our job can’t realize that you can be a decent human being without having an agenda or taking advantage.”

Regal, who now occupies a high-level office position in WWE, added that it’s the last time he will mention his AEW departure and thanked Tony Khan again for taking him onboard.

Mercedes Mone loses IWGP Women’s title as “The Icon” Mayu Iwatani takes the gold

Mercedes Mone’s run as IWGP Women’s champion came to a screeching halt today as “The Icon” Mayu Iwatani defeated Mone in a hard-hitting 13-minute match at Stardom’s All Star Grand Queendom pay-per-view today.

Mone came out for the co-main event match with a tribute to Eddie Guerrero, wearing a Black Tiger mask and sporting red and black hair. But it was the 30-year-old with the side pony-tail who bested Mone this time around, with Iwatani finishing off the champion with a cool-looking dragon suplex which bent Mone in half for the surprise three-count.

Following the match and the celebrations, Iwatani called out Mone back in the ring. Still selling her injuries, Mone took the mic and told the crowd that she loves being the CEO of Stardom and then addressed Iwatani.

“You showed me that you truly are The Icon of Stardom pro wrestling,” Mone said, before telling her to take care of the IWGP Women’s title and go show the world why she really is “The Icon.”

The two then hugged in the ring and raised each other’s hand as fans applauded.

Rampage TV report for 04/22/2023

AEW Rampage tonight comes to us from the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, PI.  After last week drawing 639,000 & a 0.21 in the 18-49 demo.  With a little help from the NBA, that’s the biggest audience since September 2021 & the largest demo in a year.

Jon Moxley vs Christopher Daniels

Backstory: Presumably they’ll say CD is friends with the Elite even though the last thing we saw was the Bucks breaking up he and Kazarian

Straight to the ring as usual, the two circled warily as the fans chanted for Mox.  Exchanging hammerlocks, into a headlock as Excalibur indeed brought up the Elite’s history with Daniels – including the Bucks breaking up he and Kazarian.  Fair enough.

Maintaining the headlock for a while, Moxley knocked the vet down with his shoulder as they also discussed the Bucks giving CD that nasty-looking eye.  But that Mox would still relish beating someone attached to the Elite.  Pretty thin storytelling.

A drop toe hold into a headlock of his own saw Daniels respond, same again as the crowd were quiet in the early going.  A knee to the gut later, the pair exchanged chops, Mox hit an elbow strike, the vet came back with a leg lariat before catapulting Mox outside, diving off the apron via elbow strike before rushing in and eating a back body drop onto the ringside mats.

Then being dropped across the steps.

Ads.

Still on top, Mox raked at the back, the only thing I really don’t like about the former champ.  Danielson fought off a superplex, coming off the top via cross body for two.  Then again via backslide.

And another after slipping out of a choke into a cradle.  But Mox popped up to strike via KKL and a piledriver for two, right into the Bulldog.  Up into the Deathrider, Daniels body-dropped his way out then came off the middle rope via flatliner, the crowd getting into what’s been a good opener.

Angel’s Wings, right in the middle, Daniels slow to cover for only two.  Appreciate that Moxley’s showing respect to the vet but there are about five people in the entire company who should get anything close to a visual pin on him.

Moxley bit his way into another choke, Daniels trying the same cradle counter as before, Mox adjusting right into H&A elbows, the Bulldog, Daniels fought to his feet, Mox synched in a tighter grip as the vet went night night.

Really enjoyed this: nice back-and-forth and a simple story of Mox adjusting to the vet’s counters.  Daniels still moves incredibly for his age.

Interestingly, the former champ not only didn’t keep the hold longer than necessary but offered a respectful handshake afterward.

Winner: Jon Moxley

Mark Sterling promo’d on Jade’s behalf since she was getting her makeup done.  Nice touch.  Sterling then revealed Wednesday’s match contract stipulates that if Taya uses Jaded/Road to Valhalla, she’ll be dq’d.  Also acknowledging that he’s ‘said this before’ but insisting it really was the case this time.

Outside of the inconsistency re: that move, this remains Jade’s most interesting program to date.  Not that the list would require a door-man.

*****

Hook came out before Isiah and the Hardys.  The commentators going on and on about what great ‘inspirations’ the Hardys were to both Hook & Isiah was a little much.

Jeff got a ‘welcome back’ chant, teased retiring but said he was retiring from ‘screwing up’ instead.  Actions speak louder…

Matt took the mic as Stokely Hathaway interrupted from the big screen.  Demanding to know when Firm Deletion is.  Seems ideas were two-for-one this week as the Firm used the video distraction to attack from behind.

Poor Isiah took the brunt of it via Ego’s Edge.  The Hardys ran-off the heels with chairs.

*****

As Excalibur moved on to another angle while their music was still playing.  Replaying the attack on Britt Baker by the JAS Wednesday.

They then showed about five seconds of Britt being seen to by the doctor as Cole apologized profusely.  Before rushing away again.

*****

To a Keith Lee/Dustin Rhodes promo.  Lee used lots of syllables to note Swerve had cost him vs Jericho.  Dustin said ‘Naturally Limitless’ would ‘descend’ on Rampage next week.

Julia Hart vs Kiera Hogan

Backstory: None

Leaving no time for entrances here either.  And Julia’s is a big part of her act.

Twice ducking a lockup, Julia slapped Kiera, who avoided a charge in the corner, dropped Hart into the ropes then hit her curb-stomp legdrop for two.

Julia hit back with a kick to the head but ate a couple back-elbow strikes then a running dropkick in the corner for another two.

Lots of crowd chants for Hart, such is the HOB’s popularity.

As she hit a neckbreaker, kip-up, standing moonsault; Kiera countered Hartless but ate a kick to the knee back into Hartless for the tap.

Hart’s character stuff was better here than last time.  Her face deliberately expressionless apart from staring the odd hole.

Post-match, Anna Jay ran down to scrap until the refs separated them.  Anna’s eyes were still black from the mist which cost her the last they met.

Now if only Malakai and co. could become hot blondes they might get some tv time.  Maybe invest in a wig?

Winner: Julia Hart

Christopher Daniels backstage with Lexi.  Claudio & Yuta interrupted, about to beat down the vet when Mox prevented it.  Until the very dumb Daniels said ‘people were wrong’, that Mox had ‘a little honor’ left.  Cue the deserved beatdown.

Mox said they ‘never changed’, ‘everybody else’ did.

I’d thought this was going to be a clever/subtle story of the BCC manipulating Daniels.  But no.  It was an AEW go-to: these heels just beat down a guy with spurious connections to the babyfaces they’re feuding with even though we haven’t been shown the relationship on tv.

Slight positive – they did for once carry a Dynamite story over to the ‘B show’.

FTR, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal vs Varsity Athletes & Slim J

Backstory: Mark Briscoe asked FTR & the J’s to team since he’s injured, they reluctantly agreed

FTR got by far the best reaction of anyone other than the Hardys.  Schiavone said Tony Khan was ‘very upset’ about MJF’s interference in the Pillars Tournament Weds.  Maybe we’ll get a triple threat on Dynamite with Perry back in?

As Mark Briscoe was shown watching backstage.

JR told Jarrett that Jackie Fargo wanted his strut back.  If Jeff starts giving away things he stole, there’ll be nothing left.

Inexplicably, this went through an ad break.

After Dax and Jarrett nearly fought, Dax pinned Daivari.  Mark Briscoe had to separate the four after.  Seems the J’s are in for their second consecutive tag title match at a ppv.

Keep the tag division in your thoughts ladies and gents.

Winner: FTR, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal

Video package for the main event, highlights of both guys.

Promo from Butcher & Blade promising to kick Omega & Takeshita’s derrieres.

Vikingo vs Dralistico, AAA Mega Title

Backstory: None

Dralistico – who has some nice entrance music – struck via tope before Vikingo even reached the ring.  The champ then went splat on the ramp as Dralistico avoided a retaliatory dive.  Looked like it sucked.

Vikingo struck back with a leaping elbow strike, corkscrew kick to Dralistico’s taped shoulder then a poisonrana.  The challenger retaliated quickly via springboard destroyer to bring the break.

Crazy when a move like that is merely a transition.

A Dralistico moonsault from in-to-out brought us back; a springboard codebreaker got two.  The pair then slugging it out on the middle rope until a headbutt sent Dralistico to the apron, Vikingo leaping after him into a destroyer.  And taking the brunt of the landing.

And it’s never an AEW Party without interference, Rush dragging Vikingo off the apron.  Though this time all of LFI were instantly dismissed.

Letting Dralistico bag two via roll-up; Vikingo coming back with another corkscrew kick, to the top: diving foot stomp for two.  But was cut-off and left dangling from the middle rope before being rana’d to the outside, landing hard on his back again.

Spectacular.  But – and this is very much a me problem – I can’t get into this for worrying about the poor dude’s back.  That’s three insanely hard bumps on it already.

‘Fight forever’ the crowd’s verdict.  As Dralistico hit La Mistica, arguing with the ref, thinking he had the match won, allowing a back heel-kick, a missile of a running knee strike in the corner and a 630 from the champ in retaining his title.

After which LFI were right back down to attack.  The show – very fittingly – rushing off the air.

Winner: Vikingo

Trinity Fatu abandons trademark filing for Trinity Starr name

Trinity Fatu, the artist formerly known as Naomi in WWE, has abandoned her application to trademark the name Trinity Starr according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The application for her assumed new name was filed on March 20 by attorney Michael Dockins, the same attorney who has helped many wrestling stars from different promotions file trademark applications.

According to the USPTO, a filing was done on April 15 for express abandonment on the mark by Dockins. The USPTO processed the application two days later on April 17 confirming that the application has been abandoned.

Apart from appearing ringside at the Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor during Mania weekend, Fatu has largely stayed away from wrestling since she walked out of WWE a year ago.

Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase apologizes for “untimely” post on social media

The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase apologized for an “untimely” post that was sent to his social media channels yesterday.

“As you know, I try to share nostalgic memories from my wrestling career as a way for fans to revisit their childhood memories,” DiBiase’s statement said. “Since my time is limited due to travel requirements, the posts are approved by me ahead of time and scheduled for a later date.”

But the WWE Hall of Famer admitted that circumstances at the moment are rather difficult following his son’s troubles with the United States Department of Justice.

“Our family is currently navigating a difficult season and while we cannot speak to these events publicly, we appreciate your prayers during this time,” he continued, adding that he truly appreciates the love and support from the fans who have been part of his family for more than 40 years.

His son Ted DiBiase Jr. was charged on 13 counts by the Department of Justice earlier this week in his role with misappropriating millions of dollars in federal safety-net funds intended for needy families and low-income individuals in Mississippi.

WWE stocks hit all-time record high during Friday’s session

WWE logo

WWE smashed its all-time high on Wall Street yesterday, hitting $109.80 during the trading day before closing the week at $109.35.

The stock has climbed almost 30% in a month and after a few days down following the Endeavor merger deal announcement, stocks rocketed to new heights since then.

The price gives WWE a market cap of $7.91 billion so far, still just over $1 billion from what Endeavor valued it in their $9 billion+ merger. Two weeks ago, Morgan Stanley upgraded WWE to a “overweight.”

Once the Endeavor transaction is finalized, WWE will be merged with the UFC on Wall Street and will trade under the symbol TKO on the New York Stock Exchange. The new name of the parent company is expected to be announced soon.

Seating chart for AEW All In at Wembley Stadium in London

AEW will be using pretty much just over half of Wembley Stadium for the All In show in late August as the seating chart has been published. This is something that WWE has been doing lately for stadium shows such as Royal Rumble and SummerSlam.

The ring will be in the center circle at Wembley with a big stage set on the west side of the stadium. The seating chart shows the unused portion of the stadium, basically from where the stage is and everything around and behind it.

Apart from floor seats, tickets will have five different pricing tiers. Judging from the seating chart, there will be around 60,000 or so seats available.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 5 at 9AM BST with a pre-sale a few days earlier on Ticketmaster.co.uk.

Three matches added to Backlash 2023

The May 6 Backlash premium live event had an additional three matches announced for its card last night, one of which seemingly without any build whatsoever.

The United States title will be defended in a triple threat match as Austin Theory takes on Bobby Lashley – again – and Bronson Reed.

Rhea Ripley will get to defend her Smackdown Women’s title against Zelina Vega, who herself is from Puerto Rico and will certainly have the home crowd support behind her.

And the third match announced which literally came out of nowhere, Seth Rollins will be meeting the Nigerian giant Omos.

These matches join the main event of Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar and a six-man tag match with Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Riddle versus The Usos and Solo Sikoa.

WWE contributed £21.8 million to the Welsh economy with Clash at the Castle

The Welsh government said today that WWE’s Clash at the Castle at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium this past September generated £21.8m for the Welsh economy.

The study found that three quarters of the 60,000+ fans who attended the show traveled from outside of the country. An Economic Impact Study with over 3,000 respondents also found that 57% of non-locals said the event made them want to explore other parts of Wales.

“Clash at the Castle had a global audience of millions, and with all eyes on Principality Stadium, we showcased what a magnificent venue we have here in Cardiff,” Welsh Rugby Union interim CEO Nigel Walker said.

Wales’ economy minister Vaughan Gething added, “In addition to the direct economic impact the event delivered here in Wales, it provided us with a huge boost to our profile internationally. This included opportunities to showcase Wales’ vibrant language and culture through bespoke content creation shared globally on WWE’s social media channels.”

1 of 1 WWE trading card featuring The Rock and Steve Austin sells for $126,000

A one of one trading card featuring The Rock performing the Rock Bottom on “Stone Cold” Steve Austin sold for $126,000 yesterday at the PWCC Marketplace.

The sale marks the highest-selling WWE trading card of all time. There is only one copy of the card in existence and it also hails from the first Panini WWE Prizm trading card set ever released.

With a print run of just one card, this Black Prizm parallel is considered one of the hardest-to-find crown jewels from the inaugural collection. PSA graded this 1/1 masterpiece a Near Mint 7.

“This is arguably the best WWE trading card in existence,” said Jesse Craig, Vice President of Sales at PWCC. “Cards like this rarely surface for public sale since they are so scarce. And when scarcity outweighs public demand, you see record prices. This was the perfect combination to drive that demand.
