A couple of more matches were added to Sunday’s Great American Bash premium live event.
The NXT Women’s North American title will be up for grabs as Zaria defends against former champion Tatum Paxley. Wren Sinclair also defends the WWE Speed Women’s title against former TNA Knockouts champion Arianna Grace and Shiloh Hill battles Tristan Angels.
The show currently features seven matches, the most for an NXT PLE since NXT TakeOver: XXV in 2019. This year’s Stand & Deliver also had seven matches, but one of them was on the pre-show. It’s not yet known if one of the matches on this card will be moved to the pre-show.
NXT Great American Bash will air live and free on The CW as part of their new extended TV deal where all NXT PLEs will also air on the network.
Dynamite drew 665,000 viewers last week, up 123,000 viewers from the broadcast which went head-to-head with the NBA Finals. The show had a 0.12 rating in 18-49, up 0.04 from the prior week and was good enough for #5 on the top 50 cable chart for the night. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider)
WWE Superstar Nattie was presented with another Guinness World Record yesterday, sending her total to seven records.
Presented by a company representative, Nattie received a GWR for the most submission wins by any man or woman in WWE history thanks to her Sharpshooter move, made famous by her uncle Bret “Hit Man” Hart.
“New Guinness World Record from @GWR today: most submission wins of any man or woman in WWE history. The Sharpshooter has beaten the best of the best,” she wrote on X.
In 2023, Nattie was award certificates for most WWE matches by a female (1,514), most WWE wins by a female (663), most PPV/PLE appearances by a female (75), most WrestleMania appearances by a female (8), most Raw matches by a female (174), and most Smackdown matches by a female (200). Numbers quoted are for that time and obviously they’re even more now.
The third season of WWE: Unreal on Netflix will debut on Tuesday, July 21.
Netflix announced the date in a post on social media, writing, “OFFICIAL: @WWE: Unreal Season 3 will release on Netflix on July 21. John Cena says goodbye, a fan favorite returns, and the next generation of WWE Superstars rise to the occasion. Buckle up.”
The third season will heavily focus on John Cena’s final match against Gunther and the return of AJ Lee.
Apart from Cena and Lee, Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, CM Punk, Trick Williams, Lash Legend, Stephanie Vaquer, Oba Femi, Bron Breakker, Chelsea Green, Matt Cardona, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch will all be featured in the new season.
Just like the first two seasons, there will be five episodes as part of season three, each of them around 50 minutes long.
Chris Weaver and Erik Powers will serve as the showrunners while the show is produced by Omaha Productions, NFL Films, Skydance Sports, and WWE.
The first hour of Night of Champions which will air on ESPN linear television will feature the finals of both the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.
It was announced on Raw yesterday that Iyo Sky vs Liv Morgan and Oba Femi vs Jey Uso will be the two matches which will be screened free on ESPN, while the rest of the show continues on the ESPN app with unlimited plan. The full event also streams live on the ESPN app.
Since WrestleMania 42, ESPN has been airing the first hour of each premium live event on linear television in a bid to increase its audience and hopefully drive subscribers to its paid streaming service.
Night of Champions kicks off on ESPN this Saturday, June 27, at 1PM ET.
WWE is taping this Friday’s Smackdown tonight at London’s O2 Arena, tapings which are done to limit WWE’s time on the ground in Saudi Arabia for this weekend’s Night of Champions.
The show will start early for those attending and then WWE will screen the FIFA World Cup game between England and Ghana after the company reached an agreement with FIFA and The O2 to show the game to all the fans who attend.
Tickets suffered big time due to the football game, with only just under 7,000 tickets distributed for this show. It’s better than what they had last week and they moved over 2,000 tickets since the FIFA announcement.
The show will not air on Netflix today for international viewers and will air regularly on Friday night starting at 8PM ET.
A returning Joe Hendry and Seth Rollins helped The Street Profits win the WWE World Tag Team titles on Raw last night from The Vision.
Hendry has been off television for a while after he was taken out by the faction and there are rumors that he is one of the many WWE Superstars who are having issues getting a U.S. working visa at the moment. With the show in London, Hendry was able to work the event and make his presence felt, chasing Logan Paul out of the arena.
Rollins eventually also came out through the fans, tricking The Vision who were expecting him running down the aisle. Rollins used Paul’s brass knuckles to take down Theory. Bron Breakker was busy running after Rollins and The Street Profits quickly ended the match by pinning Theory after a Montez Ford frog splash.
This is The Street Profits’ fifth tag team title reign including one from NXT.
There are a lot of rumors circulating about Anthem putting up TNA for sale, a move which many see to be inevitable.
While officially there’s nothing to confirm these rumors, some industry insiders are reporting that Leonard Asper, the founder and CEO of Anthem Sports & Entertainment, is looking to recover the money his company pumped into TNA.
Anthem is said to be looking for around $40 to $50 million plus debt assumption for TNA. In comparison, AOL Time Warner sold WCW for $4.2 million in 2001.
While TKO Group would look the more likely to explore a deal considering their previous working relationship with TNA, it is highly unlikely that they would pay that sum. The video library is TNA’s most important asset and something which would be a very welcomed addition to the thousands of hours stored in the WWE Vault.
TNA is currently undergoing a restructuring process, with quite a few people losing their job as part of their reduction in force, fueling more speculation that it’s being prepped up for an eventual sale.
A team of WWE Superstars battled YouTubers Dude Perfect in an episode of Squad Games.
The Miz, WWE United States champion Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, Alexa Bliss, and Charlotte Flair took on the Dude Perfect team in a battle of sports games including rowing, speed golf, longest dunk, axe throwing, and archery tag.
Dude Perfect are huge WWE fans and were once engaged to open the set reveal of WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas while performing one of their stunts.
Dr. Martha Hart, the widow of the late Owen Hart, was named Calgarian of the Year by the City of Calgary.
In a proclamation, the city attributed her award for dedicating her life to promote education, housing stability, food security, and more while leading the Owen Hart Foundation.

Dr. Martha Hart, PhD is a Cambridge University-trained researcher, philanthropist, and advocate who has dedicated her life to promoting education, housing stability, and food security, to name a few. Following the tragic 1999 death of her husband, wrestler Owen Hart, Dr. Hart transformed her grief into a force for good, establishing the Owen Hart Foundation (OHF) in his memory.
To date, the OHF has raised millions of dollars (thanks to the efforts of Dr. Hart and her dedicated OHF committee) that support the OHF’s two signature programs: the Owen Hart Home Ownership Program and the Owen Hart Scholarship Fund. These programs enrich the lives of Calgarians by assisting low-income individuals to purchase homes while removing financial barriers to education for Calgary’s youth.
The annual OHF Backpack Giveaways in partnership with TRAPPED Escape Room, have distributed thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies to children in underserved areas across Southern Alberta, as well as partnering with the Calgary Police Youth Foundation to jointly adopt multiple schools and provide stuffed backpacks and additional supplies to all students. Days after announcing that he is no longer part of TNA Wrestling, Tommy Dreamer is now getting canceled, with wrestlers coming out to share their not so positive experiences working with Dreamer.
Independent referee Perch was the first one who opened a can of worms, saying that Dreamer allegedly told him that he would do everything in his power to make sure he doesn’t have a job in the business.
Carlie Bravo, now working for AEW, claimed that Dreamer once told him that he couldn’t hire him on the basis that he doesn’t know if he could market a “cocky black guy.”
Indie wrestler Kennedi Copeland added that once in a match with Dreamer, she asked to take a cane shot, but Dreamer did not want to do it, and came up with a spot where he would spank her instead. Copeland told Dreamer she wasn’t comfortable with it, but the spot still took place in the match.
Fellow indie wrestler Dani Jordyn also chimed in, saying t hat once Dreamer insisted on doing a crotch grab spot to her despite the move having no place in their storyline.
“But he didn’t care to ask. I did not want to do this, said how uncomfortable I was, but I’m just woman, right,” Jordyn wrote.
Several ex-colleagues of Dreamer jumped to his defense, including Mickie James, Matt Hardy, and others who have worked with him throughout the years.
Liv Morgan suffered an apparent leg injury at the non-televised live event in Birmingham, England after a botched move in a tag team match.
The incident happened when Sol Ruca went for a springboard body splash but Morgan was also out of position, slightly away from Ruca’s reach, and Ruca landed on Morgan’s right leg, which twisted under pressure.
After a pin attempt, Morgan held on to her leg and then rolled out of the ring. She eventually finished the match hobbling around but was clearly in pain.
The Women’s World champion posted on X after the show, not mentioning anything about what happened.
“You’re welcome Birmingham for blessing you with my presence tonight,” she wrote. “Currently running to London because I am the f*cking GOAT.”
Morgan is set to appear on Raw tonight and her situation will be more clear. She is scheduled to wrestle Iyo Sky at this weekend’s Night of Champions premium live event in the final of the Queen of the Ring tournament.

El Grande Americano yesterday announced his intentions of going after the AAA Mega Championship in his first appearance on TV since the mask vs mask match, but was rudely interrupted by the newly-reformed Los Perros del Mal faction.
Americano was first confronted by NXT’s Karmen Petrovic and then Angel, Berto, Bronco Nima, and the faction’s leader Daga, all surrounded the ring. Americano fell down to the brutal attack despite an effort to fight back.
After beating him down, all five unzipped their hoodies to reveal the shirt with the Los Perros del Mal logo to a huge pop from the crowd.
Daga, who was part of the faction many years ago, has not appeared in AAA since 2021.
Perros Del Mal was founded in 2004, with the late Perro Aguayo Jr. as the leader of the group. The faction, under different members, appeared in both AAA and CMLL.
Kris Statlander advanced to the Survival of the Fittest match for the vacant TBS title last night on Collision.
The former AEW Women’s champion defeated Mina Shirakawa to secure her spot in the match which will have a total of six participants.
Hikaru Shida and Persephone have already qualified for the match as well, with the remaining three qualifying matches to take place over the next week.
The TBS title was vacated by Willow Nightingale due to an injury and a new champion will be crowned on the July 1 episode of Dynamite.
In a post on social media, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler said that they will be taking some time off to spend time with their families.
“Aside from my bicep tear in 2017, we’ve taken no time away from the job we’ve dreamed of having. Physically & mentally, we both became exhausted,” Harwood wrote on his Facebook account.
Listing all the injuries they went through, he said that for the first time in 12 years, they decided to step away and take some time for themselves and for their families.
“I’m not sure when we’ll be back, what we’re going to do, how much longer we have, or if we even need to prove anything at all anymore,” he continued.
He did say that they have two indie dates booked which they will honor, on August 22 for Appalachian Mountain Wrestling and on August 29 for Rev Pro.
FTR’s deal with AEW is coming into the optional year and but could also decide to leave if they wish to, something that many insiders believe will not happen.
The NXT Women’s championship will be defended on AAA for the first time ever next Friday night, 24 hours before a scheduled NXT Women’s title match at the Great American Bash.
It was announced by AAA GM Rey Mysterio that Lola Vice will put her belt up for grabs against La Hiedra on the June 27 episode of AAA on FOX.
Whomever the champion will be will then face Kendal Grey at the NXT Great American Bash the following night on June 28.
Vice has been appearing regularly on AAA television and also holds the AAA World Mixed Tag Team titles with Mr. Iguana.
Jim Ross revealed that he has been hospitalized for the past three weeks but assured fans not to count him out just yet.
“Day 22 in the hospital in Norman. Watching @CWSOmaha with my @soonerbaseball,” wrote JR on X. “Thanks for everyone’s kind thoughts and prayers. Don’t count me out just yet. I’m still fighting!”
Ross has been battling several health issues over the past few years, including bouts with cancers. He recently said that doctors are worried he is developing dementia or Alzheimer’s and want to keep further testing.
Ross last appeared for AEW at Double or Nothing, calling just one match. Even that weekend was a bad one for JR, who said he fell in his home prior to going to the airport, missing the flight in the process.
Maya World scored a huge upset last night on Collision and beat the ROH Women’s champion Athena in the women’s Owen Hart Cup tournament semi final match, booking a date with last year’s winner Mercedes Mone in the final.
World was not even supposed to be part of the tournament and replaced the injured Sareee in the same week that she lost her 25-year-old brother in a fatal highway crash.
Both Athena and Mone hugged Maya after her victory but the feel-good moment quickly turned around, with both of them attacking her, leaving her down and out in the middle of the ring.
The final of the women’s Owen Hart Cup tournament takes place at Forbidden Door and the winner goes on to All In to wrestle for the AEW Women’s title.
