Workers union protesting about substandard wages by AEW to production staff in Philly

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees posted on X that IATSE Local 8 members were out protesting about AEW failing to meet area standards by paying substandard wages and benefits to those helping in production for the AEW residency at the 2300 Arena.

“When employers undercut these standards it threatens wages, benefits, and job opportunities for all entertainment workers in the community,” the post said. “We stand in solidarity with our Local 8 kin as they hold employers accountable and fight to protect the fair standards that entertainment workers deserve!”

The IATSE represents 140,000 skilled craftspeople, united by a common commitment to winning better workplaces, being the best at their crafts, and improving the lives of entertainment workers and their families.

AEW starts their seven-show residency at the 2300 Arena with tonight’s Dynamite.

The company has not issued a public response yet.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson says it’s hard to talk about son’s incident

In a livestream on Kick, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson said it’s hard to talk about the incident involving Syko Stu and his son Raja.

“I feel bad about what happened to Syko Stu. I don’t condone what my son did, very unfortunate,” Jackson said.

He said as a father, he has to have his son’s back and he’s going to let justice play out and take this to court.

“I can’t talk about any details or stuff like that. I can’t really go into nothing. This shit has put me in a bad mood,” he continued. “I feel bad about Syko Stu and his family, his family had to see that shit. I just wish I could have been there.”

Jackson said that hopefully one day, he can meet Stu, shake his hand, and have a man-to-man with him.

“I don’t got the right words to say, the haters are going to twist my words…I wasn’t there. Ya’ll need to know I don’t condone Raja’s conduct,” Rampage added. “And I hope Syko Stu can forgive me, myself, as a dad, for not understanding everything.”

How modern promotions are redefining sports entertainment narratives

Introduction

Gone are the days when wrestling stories, like those surrounding Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant, counted too heavily on good and evil face-off. Modern stories offer much more complex narratives, like the multi-year character evolution of Roman Reigns, reflecting family unity, struggle for identity, and the shift of power dynamics. These elements have added longevity to stories, fostering durable emotional bonds and a sustained sense of relatability.

As it is becoming increasingly evident, the shift from straightforward rivalries to complex storytelling techniques has triggered a revolutionary change in fans’ expectations, driving the trends of media consumption. Today’s fanbase is more drawn to character-specific, well-rounded narratives, particularly those having the flair of actual TV dramas. Besides, the growing popularity of social media platforms has proliferated the opportunities for fans to engage in real time with their favorite characters and influence the way the storylines evolve. These trends reveal that the stories have remarkable potential to adapt as they are on the heels of cultural shifts. The growing complexity of modern storytelling and characterization techniques also challenges aspiring writers and students to avoid a formulaic approach and experiment with intricate narratives as they engage in character development or story-writing in any other way.

The Golden Era versus Modern Wrestling Storytelling Simple Heroes vs. Complex Characters

The Wrestling’s Golden Era (from the 1980s through 1990s) generally appreciated simple plots and themes, mostly a morally good character eventually overpowering the evil. The good characters or Heroes, mostly babyfaces like Hulk Hogan, would connect with their audience by demonstrating remarkable courage, patriotism, and commitment to their cause. Their arch-rivals,

such as Ted DiBiase, would pose as villains or heels, thumping their chest in lust for money. The fans had set expectations, and the storywriters were supposed to serve poetic justice by making the villains end in despair. Modern storylines and characters set themselves apart, such as Kenny Omega and Roman Reigns, known for their unpredictability and complexity, being morally gray, and shifting their loyalties as the plot unfolds. These nuances, unfamiliar to the Golden Era, resonate with pop culture and a pro-modernist standpoint.

So today’s fans no longer want a hero defeating the villain, as was the case with the Golden Era. Instead, they mesmerize with layered stories, giving a more realistic picture of their performers’ lives, emotional swings, and shifting allegiances. These elements have brought critical intricacy to characterization, as well as narrative, since performers need to embrace the dynamism of pop culture to meet the multi-layered expectations of their fans. It is too often the case for the wrestling students to feel stuck when writing character development essays, considering the complexity and unpredictability of modern characters. The good news is that Eduwriter is always there as your go-to assistant, making it a breeze to structure your analysis of complex personas.

Match Stipulations and Story Integration

It is notable that during the Golden Era, stipulations such as cages were often designed to heighten the match-specific quality of entertainment. Today’s stipulations are more deeply integrated into the story’s overall narrative. For example, WWE’s renowned rivalry Match inside hell in a Cell between Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso had its value extending beyond spectacles, serving as the dramatic resolution for protracted family conflict. The same applies to the

AEW-sponsored Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch contest between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley, a much-awaited end to their feud and struggle for dominance. Hence, modern wrestling

stipulations serve as a link to the chain of dramatic performance, often symbolizing the climactic stage of conflict.

So today, from a cage to an iron man, every single stipulation symbolizes something that the audience can relate back to themes they are exposed to. It is not all about the contest, but how it integrates into the overarching drama.

The Role of Social Media in Wrestling Narrative

The emergence of social media has substantially pushed the boundaries of fans’ experience, as today’s promotions thrive on the dynamic connectivity through Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, unlike the Golden Era, which was confined to television and pay-per-view only.

Characters’ ongoing presence over social media continues to blur the boundaries between their real life and on-screen personas.

Similarly, the fan interactions over social media have pushed the Bloodline’s storylines beyond the weekly shows. For example, it is becoming habitual among wrestlers to show pictures embedded in Bloodline’s themes to foreshadow something special, such as violence or betrayal. Another example is CM Punk subtly indicating his return by quoting the lines from The Last Dance in his Twitter post that the netizens could easily relate to AEW Rampage, mentioning The First Dance. For many fans, it was a sure sign of Punk’s return to the ring that appeared to be true.

Fans’ social media interaction also influences the broader narratives, such as booking decisions, as the fans support a rising or currently less popular star. By the same token, storylines can see unexpected shifts, aiming to align with the fans’ sentiments. Therefore, the production and characterization need to adopt a social media savvy approach to maximize engagement and resonate with the majority of fans.

Conclusion

To conclude, the storylines in wrestling have substantially evolved from their reliance on overly simplistic plots and the binary nature of struggle between inherently heroic and villainous characters into something that embraces multi-layered personas, complexity, and unpredictability. Stipulations naturally connect to the plot and give the reader a feeling of connectedness to the broader themes. To add, social media has taken the frequency and nature of fan interactions to another level, where routine social media posts complement the weekly shows to boost the hype around key events and keep the fans on their heels all the time.

Ricky Saints gets NXT title shot at No Mercy

Ricky Saints is getting a crack at the NXT Championship at the upcoming No Mercy premium live event.

Saints defeated Josh Briggs in a number one contenders match on NXT on CW last night and then had a back-and-forth with champion Oba Femi in the ring. That was interrupted by DarkState, who took down both Femi and Saints until former tag team champions Hank and Tank came out for the save.

This is Saints’ first shot at the NXT title. He has already won the NXT North American title shortly after he jumped from AEW.

KnokX wrestlers claim staff telling them not to speak with law enforcement

Indie wrestlers Douglas Malo and Ian Morgan, who wrestle for KnokX Pro, appeared on The Scaling Up podcast to discuss the Syko Stu/Raja Jackson incident from Saturday night, revealing that an employee from the training school is sending messages to students telling them not to speak to law enforcement or anyone.

Two text messages allegedly from Kevin Thomas, who is a former U.S. Army Combat vet himself, were shown during the podcast.

“Please refrain from engaging in comment sections on social media posts about this tragedy. It will be weaponized in potential criminal and civil cases. Fly low,” the first text said.

The second one read, “If Law Enforcement or an attorney for the suspect contacts you in any capacity, let someone here know right away for guidance on how to address them. @everyone.”

The two indie wrestlers praised KnokX owner Rikishi, who was not at the event, and said that what happened on Saturday doesn’t represent Rikishi in any way.

Syko Stu, real name Stuart Smith, is a military veteran who used wrestling as to get over PTSD.

WWE has since cut ties with the training school and KnokX Pro is no longer a WWE ID-affiliated promotion.

Jake Hager refers to Tony Khan as “daddy’s little billionaire” in wide-ranging interview

Jake Hager sat down with Chris Van Vliet in Tampa, Florida to discuss leaving AEW and his new trucking business called “Haulin’ Oats”, appearing alongside Chris Jericho on Dynamite, the “I like this hat” segments, winning the World Championship in WWE and the criticism of his reign, the origin of the “We the people” catchphrase, being slapped by Michael Cole, and more!

On the decision to retire:

“I had done it since 2006, dedicated a lot of my best parts of my life to the sport, roughly 17-18 years, very grateful. Had a good gig for most of that and blessed to have done it. Because pro wrestling is very tough to get into, and there’s literally hundreds of thousands of people who want to become pro wrestlers, and it’s growing every day. Like I said, I don’t watch it anymore. So I think for me, I had accomplished everything that I really cared about and wanted to move on for the longest time. I always was like, what am I going to do after pro wrestling? What trade do I have? And this is a great story. I rode with Dutch Mantell for years, and I’ll put winning the World Heavyweight Championship up there with riding with Dutch Mantell, it was that important to my career, the things that I learned, the things that he taught me, and just his f*cking funny phrases. The guy has just a way with words. He could insult you and you’re like, Thank you Dutch. But he was always like ‘Jack, whatever you do from here, you gotta use what you did in pro wrestling at the WWE, the way they use you. You gotta use that background in whatever you venture into next.’ And if you think about it like that, the advice always stuck with me. Okay, I could be a salesperson because I can talk on the mic in front of live people, or I could be endearing and be vulnerable at the same time. So that could help me with something else, but pretty much with pro wrestling, you’re a professional driver. You are gone Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and then you’re home Wednesday, home 36 hours, and then you’re back out on Friday, and every single one of those days, you’re in a rental car, and you are driving town to town, making the town. So that really stuck with me, and it kind of like influenced me to go into the truck driving business, because I’m already a professional driver. I told Vince this once, the wrestling I’ll do for free, you got to pay me for the driving. And so it kind of led me to where I’m at now, and I’m excited.”

On when he fell out of love with wrestling:

“I’m very jaded from my exit at AEW. I’m very proud of the stuff I did there. But at the same time, I find myself questioning right now. I wish I would have just stayed in MMA at some point. Inner Circle was one of my favorite things to do in pro wrestling. I love those guys. JAS, Daddy Magic. I mean, I just really loved working with Chris. He’s number one on my Mount Rushmore, Chris Jericho, because he can just constantly reinvent himself. He can not only do that, but he can see what he has around him, and he knows how to elevate us, bring it up and make it look good. Chris Jericho is the reason why that purple hat was so over.”

What do you mean?

“It was his intuition. We did that backstage promo, and it was live to the crowd, and where I first said, ‘I like this hat!’ The crowd just popped. Once he heard that pop, that’s all he needed to know.”

On criticism of his World Heavyweight Title reign:

“I mean, I’m on a list, a very elite list, of World Heavyweight Champions. I don’t really care what people think. Hindsight is 20/20. I got into this for me. I’m glad you guys like me, I don’t care if you hate me. I’m not gonna sacrifice my happiness to worry about that stuff, especially in this day and age with social media. It is what it is. I’m a World Heavyweight Champion, whether you like it or not.”

On the “We the people” catchphrase:

“So I win the Elimination Chamber, and they’re trying to put some heat on me. And they’re like, All right, let’s come up a mouthpiece. And we just so happened to be in Nashville, where Dutch lives. I’ll be honest, at the time, I didn’t really know that much about him. Of course, I heard the name Dirty Dutch Mantell before. I knew he was from Memphis, but I didn’t know everything. Triple H brought him in. Triple H was a big fan of his, and so we bring him in, and this is before Raw that night that he comes out. And we’re like, cutting promos, and he did one, and we’re like, okay, do this. Then he did another one, do this. And then when he did the second one, this wasn’t written, it wasn’t planned, he just felt it and he said, ‘We the people’ at the end of it to close the interview, and everybody in the room just knew, oh sh*t. And this was originally my storyline that I pitched to them, John Piermarini and I wrote it together. And anyways, after that, we were like, okay, that just felt right. And we would go out there at times, and we do live events, Dutch is great at promos, he just has a way with words when he would say some pretty insulting things. And at the time, still now, it was very scandalous to be talking about these things. Then still, at the end, no matter how much they would boo us, they would say, along with us, ‘We the people’ again. And so we knew Okay, this is big. That was my point earlier, when I pitched the angle I was like if they go for this, this could be big. I don’t think WWE really got on board with how big it could be until later down the line.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter Kelly rips Becky Lynch for Raw promo

Kelly Osbourne, the daughter of the late, great, Ozzy Osbourne, was not happy that Becky Lynch mentioned her father or her city in a promo last night on Raw.

Lynch was trying to get some cheap heel heat using the formula that always works – bash the city you’re performing in – while in an in-ring segment with Nikki Bella.

“Because I’m not wrestling in Birmingham. Yeah, the only good thing that came out of here died a month ago,” Lynch said after the IC title match in Paris was agreed to.

She then continued, “But in fairness to Ozzy Osbourne he had the sense to move to LA, a proper city. Because if I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too!”

Kelly called Lynch a “disrespectful dirtbag” and said Birmingham would not piss on her even if she were on fire.

“Shame on the WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home,” she continued in a post on Instagram Story.

The 76-year-old Ozzy Osbourne is a celebrity member of the WWE Hall of Fame and passed away last month just weeks after he had his farewell concert.

“I’m laughing about it right now, but honestly, I just wanted to be home. It’s alright, though. Everything happens for a reason. Thank you guys for showing the love and support,” she continued.

She participated in the Zero Hour six-woman tag team match and then also had a brawl during the pay-per-view which featured the return of Jamie Hayter.

2025 Magius Casino online casino trends

Thanks to technological advances, online casinos have undergone continuous development over the past few years, which has led to a significant increase in their popularity.

In 2025, we may enter an era of casinos where digitalization is no longer an issue for players. Artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and mobile-optimized casino games are already part of the public consciousness.

This has greatly changed the casino experience for gamblers and provided them with new casino experiences. In the article below, you can read more about the trends that have contributed to the popularity of casinos in 2025.

The Emergence of Artificial Intelligence in Online Casinos

Currently, artificial intelligence is not only a tool for the future, but also a simple yet integral part of everyday life, which is also present in the world of casinos. In the world of online casinos, artificial intelligence, thanks to various algorithms, allows players to observe their habits on the tikitaka casino site and offers them games that suit them.

Artificial intelligence can observe not only players’ gambling habits, but also their reactions, so if the game goes too far, it can encourage them to play responsibly.

At the same time, these systems also facilitate the work of customer service, as 24/7 live chat options are also available on the Magius Casino website. Thanks to artificial intelligence, online problem solving has become much faster.

Use of Blockchain-based Systems and Cryptocurrencies

Digitally applied payment methods are becoming increasingly popular in 2025, and online casinos have been quick to seize the advantages this offers. In 2025, cryptocurrencies are no longer just an alternative payment method, but in many cases the primary payment option for gamblers.

Bitcoin, Jeton, Litecoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies are all widely used payment methods at tikitaka casino. This is a particularly useful payment method for players, as they do not have to worry about constant exchange rate fluctuations, and thus the value of their winnings does not change so easily.

At the same time, many online casinos are also building on blockchain technology. They offer easily traceable games and transactions, all thanks to blockchain technology. This greatly improves user confidence and emphasizes the possibility of fair play.

5G and Mobile-friendly Solutions in the World of Casinos

Slot games that are easily accessible on mobile phones will be part of the basic casino experience by 2025. Magius Casino slot games are also easily accessible from any smart device. Today, 90% of gamblers spin the reels of slot machines on their phones, and many casinos offer extra bonuses if you download their mobile app.

The spread of 5G networks is also having a revolutionary impact on the world of online casinos. Fast data transfer allows players to enjoy a smooth yet exciting casino experience. At the same time, live casino games also work great on phones, giving gamblers a truly authentic casino experience.

More and more casinos are offering PWA-type apps, which means that no separate app is required, as the casino can be opened directly from the online browser without installation.

Various Loyalty Programs

The degree of accessibility offered to players varies throughout casino websites. While some websites only have five levels, others have thirty. Naturally, the number of levels has no bearing on the gameplay or the potential for bonuses.

Although players who do not have access to the VIP program at tikitaka casino can still receive various bonuses, each level they complete opens up new bonus options. On a casino website, how do I level up? Since all you need to do is play and spend time on the casino website, levelling up is regarded as simple. Playing games and putting bets will earn you points, and when you reach a particular number, you will be able to advance in the casino’s loyalty program.

You may monitor your gameplay and determine your current level on the casino website by levelling up. There are a lot of fantastic chances for gamblers on online casino sites.

Brief Summary About the Trends

The trends that are currently present in the world of online casinos are clearly due to technological developments in 2025. Artificial intelligence, live casino experiences via mobile phones or various loyalty programs, as well as the use of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, all contribute to the experience of gamblers and to the unprecedented development of casino gaming.

WWE adds Women’s Intercontinental title match to Clash in Paris

Women's Intercontinental title

While the WWE Women’s World title match is off the Clash in Paris card, another women’s title match is replacing it.

It was announced on Raw last night that WWE Women’s Intercontinental champion Becky Lynch will be defending the title against Hall of Famer and former tag team champion Nikki Bella.

Bella called Lynch a bunch of names, including the c-word…coward! But The Man said she’s not a coward and agreed to a match in Paris because she did not want to wrestle in Birmingham, insulting the fans and the city in the process.

This is Nikki’s first televised title match since Evolution in 2018 when she lost to Ronda Rousey in the main event, with Rousey retaining the Raw Women’s title.

The WWE Women’s World title match planned for Clash in Paris this Sunday has been taken off the card.
