Chad Gable has offered Rey Mysterio a shot at the WWE Intercontinental title.
In a backstage segment on Raw, Gable called Mysterio “the greatest luchador of all time” and told him it would be an honor to defend the title against him.
Mysterio accepted the challenge, telling Gable that while he’s doing more GM stuff for AAA at the moment, he still has a lot left in the tank.
The Intercontinental champion then told Mysterio he was going to find Adam Pearce to make it official, but by the end of the broadcast, the match was never announced.
Gable won the IC title at SummerSlam, defeating Penta for his first singles title in WWE.
Solo Sikoa is headed back to The Bloodline, although this time, it’s against his will.
On Raw last night, Jey Uso challenged his younger brother for a match where if Jey won, he would have to “deliver” Sikoa to The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.
Sikoa accepted the challenge, but also made his own stipulation that if he wins, The Bloodline has to leave him alone.
The match main evented Raw and Jey won after some interference from their other brother, Jimmy.
Reigns will be on Raw next week and the whole family will be back together, somewhat.
The tournament to crown the number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight title for the September 14 episode of Raw in Mexico City kicked off yesterday.
In the first match of the tournament, Penta defeated Laredo Kid to advance to the semi final where he will face the winner of Psycho Clown vs La Parka. This match will take place this Saturday on AAA on Fox.
The other matches will see Dragon Lee vs El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Rey Fenix vs El Fiscal.
The winner of this tournament faces Roman Reigns for the title at Arena CDMX. It will be Reigns’ first match on Raw since the January 6, 2025 debut on Netflix.
WWE Raw will be live from the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia tonight. There are only three matches advertised for the show so far, with Raw GM Adam Pearce making the announcements.
The matches are:
Penta vs Laredo Kid in the WWE World Heavyweight title #1 contenders tournament match
Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez vs Sol Ruca and a mystery partner
Akira Tozawa vs Austin Theory
Plus, both Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer will be in the building following their surprise return last week.
WWE star Chelsea Green recently appeared on SiriusXM’s The Nikki and Brie Show.
During the interview, Chelsea reflected on her win at SummerSlam, opened up about what this championship means after years of hard work and explained her Michael Hayes callout. She also shares her desire to start a family and discusses her role in the upcoming horror movie “Red Wedding.”

Chelsea Green: Poor Michael Hayes. Poor Michael Hayes is never gonna live this down. Until the end of time, it’s gonna be like me in the history book with like a little picture of him beside it. My number one op, Michael Hayes.
Nikki Garcia: I couldn’t believe how many people, to me, were like, “What did she say to Michael Hayes?” I can’t believe how many people said that to me, you know, who’s ever talked about a championship. I’m like, “That’s so wild you’re bringing up Michael Hayes.”
Chelsea Green: Isn’t that hilarious? And just know that, so first of all, I’m not an emotional person at all. I also don’t hold grudges. In fact, I forget and a lot of times my girlfriends have to remind me like, “We don’t like that person.” I’m like, “Oh yeah. Sorry, sorry, sorry.” I was momentarily, I forgot and I was nice to them, but I was so emotional that entire day and I had seen Michael Hayes and he had given me words of encouragement, but back to Unreal. I watched it and I didn’t think anything of it, and then when I started getting flooded with texts, I changed my mind like, “Oh yeah, that was kind of mean. That was kind of rude.”
Nikki Garcia: Well, what’s sad is you were always used to hearing that. Do you know what I mean?
Chelsea Green: Yes. It was so ingrained in me. That’s actually exactly it.
Nikki Garcia: So you needed people to be like, “No, that’s not okay.”
Chelsea Green: Yeah, and they’re putting you in this box when you’ve constantly fought to get out, and so when I went on the post show and I was like, “I have to do this,” even though I don’t feel any type of way about it. I have to dedicate this win to him because I’m the petty queen that I am and the fans need to see that. They did this for me.
Nikki Garcia: You had to. It would have been such a missed moment if you didn’t mention Michael Hayes.
Chelsea Green: Exactly. That’s what they wanted to hear whether I cared about it or not. They needed the moment of me saying-
Nikki Garcia: Yes.
Chelsea Green: And Michael Hayes is such a good sport.

Chelsea Green: Matt and I, we’ve started this new era of like, when we get annoyed with each other, like it’s more of like, “No, you need to change this because when we have kids, you cannot be doing that.” I’ll do it all the time. This poor man is so sick of it. But, you know, I’m 35. I wanted to have kids five years ago before I came back and we decided together that I would come back to WWE so that I wouldn’t have any resentment towards us and our future family, but now, I’ve done the thing.
Nikki Garcia: You’ve done the thing. You got the big title.
Chelsea Green: So if it happens, like God willing, I would be so happy.
Nikki Garcia: I would be so happy for you. I mean, look, you’re 35. I had Teo at 37, so I think now is a perfect age.

Former multi-time champion Bayley continued to fuel rumors of moving to AEW following a post on her Instagram.
Bayley posted several videos of herself training, and training with other individuals with the caption, “All or nothing, baby,” also adding the song “All In” by The Grouch & Eligh. Both are references used in AEW.
Her best friend, Mercedes Mone, have posted teases about Bayley joining on her social media, but this was the first time that Bayley did it.
Bayley has not appeared on WWE television since getting beat by Lyra Valkyria on Saturday Night’s Main Event last month at Madison Square Garden. She published a short documentary from that day, with many believing it was the last time she was going to wrestle for WWE in MSG.
She did make one non-televised appearance a few weeks ago, wrestling Sol Ruca and Valkyria in a triple threat match, but has not done anything WWE-related since then.
It is believed that her WWE contract runs out in a month or two and she has opted not to sign a new one, at least not yet.
A WWE LFG prospect is moving to AAA, reuniting with his old coach The Undertaker.
On last night’s episode of LFG on A&E, Shawn Michaels informed Elijah Holyfield, the son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield, that he will be moving to AAA to “show the world who Elijah Holyfield truly is.”
In a previous season of LFG, Holyfield was coached by The Undertaker, who now runs the creative in AAA along with Jeremy Borash.
“The possibilities down there are going to be unlimited for you,” Michaels continued. “Congratulations and thank you very much for always giving it your best.”
Once he debuts in AAA, he will be the second LFG participant to make it on the show. Drake Morreaux, who a few months ago was told he’s going to AAA, made his AAA debut this past weekend.
The AEW Grand Slam: Mexico show drew 694,000 viewers this past Wednesday, up 22,000 viewers from the prior episode of Dynamite. The show had a 0.14 rating in 18-49, up 0.02 from the previous week. Last year’s show drew 736,000 and a 0.21 rating. (Ratings credit: F4Wonline)
WWE is once again going on an international tour before the Royal Rumble, with eight events, including four television tapings, set for January.
WWE will hit eight different countries for these eight events, with non-televised shows in Poland, Netherlands, Sweden, and Hungary and Raw and Smackdown tapings in Belgium, Scotland, England, and Ireland.
This will be WWE’s first time in Sweden in more than eight years and in Hungary for the first time in almost 10 years.
All four non-televised live events are advertised with both Raw and Smackdown stars participating.
The tour consists of:
Friday, January 15: Smackdown at Forest National in Brussels, Belgium
Saturday, January 16: Live event at PreZero Arena in Gliwice, Poland
Sunday, January 17: Live event at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands

AAA Mega champion Dominik Mysterio will be defending his title against red-hot favorite El Grande Americano at the upcoming Triplemania 34 premium live event.
Triplemania 34 is split into two nights, with night one at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on September 11 and night two at Arena CDMX in Mexico City on September 13.
It was not announced on which night the title match will take place, but considering Americano’s immense popularity in Mexico, it would make more sense to have the match on night two.
Both Superstars will be on the AAA on FOX show next week.
Tickets for night one in Las Vegas vanished quickly as the location was originally set to be the smaller Luxor Theater. Tickets for the MGM Grand opened up earlier this week and are also mostly sold out, with more seats with limited views opened. The upper level of the arena is not open for sales yet.
The AEW Continental Challenge Cup kicked off last night on Collision, with the first three men qualifying to the next round of matches.
Claudio Castagnoli was the first one to advance, winning against Ace Austin. Orange Cassidy also moved on with a win over Matt Sydal, and Eddie Kingston defeated Jack Doyle to move to the next round.
The next matches will take place on Dynamite, with Jay White vs David Finlay and Jon Moxley vs Jack Perry. Further matches will take place on Collision next week. Mox is the defending champion in this tournament and will have to make it all the way to retain it.
The final will take place on the All In pay-per-view in London, where the winner takes the title and the cup.
Bad luck has once again struck the new interim WWE Women’s champion Chelsea Green as she confirmed that she suffered a broken orbital bone this past Friday on Smackdown in her tag team match.
“I’m trying to keep this private, but the internet knows everything so…I thought I’d come here and clear things up,” Green said in a video posted on social media, holding the title on her shoulder.
“I did get injured last night. Stuff happens, it’s live television, it’s wrestling, it’s an occupational hazard. I ended up in the emergency room, and I have a broken orbital bone,” a dejected Green said.
“It looks amazing, all things considered. It feels awful, but looks pretty amazing,” she continued, showing a slight bruise under her right eye.
She said she has no idea what this means for her immediate future and while she has played into every single injury, this feels different.
“It feels frustrating. I’m upset. I feel like if I didn’t have bad luck I’ve had I’d have no luck at all. So I just need to take a little bit more time to like, process and to heal from the head trauma that is going on right now. Then, we’ll see what happens,” Green concluded.
The champ teamed up with Tiffany Stratton on Friday to take on the WWE Women’s Tag Team champions Fatal Influence.
AEW is back on TV tonight with Collision, which returns to its regular Saturday night time slot. The show takes place from the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

After thanking WWE for their “royal treatment” they gave him and his wife at Backlash earlier this year, former wrestling legend Dan Spivey did the same after he was invited to be part of the SummerSlam festivities last weekend.
“I just want to thank Michael [Hayes] and Mr. Kahn, very much for the respect they showed an old guy. It was just an awesome event, everybody was so good and they gave me more than I ever expected,” Spivey said in a video posted on his social media.
Former WWE stars seem to be being treated much more nicely under this new regime compared to the previous one.
“You know, it made an old guy happy, it really did,” Spivey continued. “Respect goes a long ways, that’s all I ever wanted from this business was respect. I certainly got it. Thank you guys. I appreciate you.”
Spivey worked in WWE and WCW, using his name in WCW but then adopting the gimmick of Waylon Mercey in his second run with WWE in 1995.
Speaking of legends, even Rick Martel made it to SummerSlam, his first WWE televised appearance in decades. He was shown at ringside and acknowledged on television along with a graphic.
“What a weekend! @wrestlecon then @WWE invited me to #wwesummerslam and on Monday magnifique surprise ran into @FightOwensFight at the airport,” Martel wrote on X. “Two world champions but only one #model!”
The rumors of Zilla Fatu joining WWE intensified over the last several hours after Fatu dropped the HOG Crown Jewel title at the House of Glory: High Intensity event in Jamaica, New York last night.
Zilla lost to Amazing Red in the main event of the show and after the match, Red told him “good luck” as the announcers hyped him up, confirming that he was leaving.
Fatu is the son of Umaga and another potential member of the ever-growing Bloodline faction. He started training wrestling after he served six years at a Texas prison for aggravated robbery at the age of just 15.
The now 26-year-old has turned his life around and trained with Booker T. He was seen multiple times at the WWE Performance Center in June.
Former NXT Women’s champion Tatum Paxley made her main roster debut last night on Smackdown, coming to the aid of Charlotte Flair and the returning Alexa Bliss in the main event of the show.
Paxley made her presence felt when in the Jade Cargill vs Charlotte Flair match, Michin and B-Fab interfered. That prompted Alexa Bliss to make her entrance, along with Lilly, but then the lights went out and when they came back up, Paxley was on the ring post.
Paxley made a high-flying crossbody block on Michin and B-Fab, wiping both of them out. In the ring, Flair got the upper hand on Cargill and beat her with the Natural Selection.
After the match, the three faces posed and celebrated together in the ring as the show went to black.
Paxley last appeared on the June 30 episode of NXT, losing to Kelani Jordan. The 29-year-old has been working for WWE since 2021, assigned to the NXT brand since then.
While WWE will be paying $105 million to settle their share of the lawsuit brought forward by the WWE shareholders, former WWE Chairman and CEO will also be forking a hefty sum on top of that.
Bloomberg Law is reporting that McMahon will be paying an additional $42.5 million to settle the lawsuit, bringing the total number to $147.5 million.
WWE, through TKO, will only be paying $30 million in reality as the remaining $75 million of their settlement share will be paid by insurance. The company is expecting their insurance premium to rise by a wide margin following this claim.
The settlement is still going through the motions though, with the shareholders filing a letter in court noting a dispute between McMahon and others over the details of their agreements with their respective insurers.
The shareholders also criticized TKO for making partial disclosures in their SEC filing, noting that the filing said that they will pay $105 million when in reality the full settlement was $147.5 million.
The eight-man tournament bracket to determine Roman Reigns’ opponent for the WWE World Heavyweight title on the September 14 episode of Raw live from Mexico City has been published.
The first round will have Penta vs Laredo Kid on Raw on August 10, Psycho Clown vs La Parka on AAA on August 15, Dragon Lee vs El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr on Raw on August 17, and Rey Fenix vs El Fiscal on Raw on August 17.
The winners of Penta vs Laredo Kid and Psycho Clown vs La Parka will meet each other in the semi final while the winners of Dragon Lee vs El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Rey Fenix vs El Fiscal will battle in the second semi final.
Reigns’ Raw match on September 14 will be his first one since the Raw Netflix debut episode on January 6, 2025.
Collision on Thursday night, away from its usual Saturday night time slot, drew 362,000 viewers, down 65,000 viewers from the prior episode. Collision had a 0.05 rating in 18-49, down 0.02 from the previous week.
Impact on AMC last week drew 176,000 viewers, down a whopping 131,000 viewers from the prior week and one of their least-watched episodes of the year. The show went head-to-head with AEW’s Collision. Impact had a 0.03 rating in 18-49, down 0.02.
