Penta to defend WWE Intercontinental title against Vikingo on AAA television

Penta will be defending the WWE Intercontinental title on AAA television on Saturday, April 11, one week before WrestleMania.

On yesterday’s third and final night of Rey de Reyes, former AAA Mega champion El Hijo Del Vikingo called out Penta to tell him that his goal is now to take the WWE IC title. Vikingo cannot wrestle for the top AAA title as long as Mysterio remains champion.

Penta accepted Vikingo’s challenge and the match will happen in Mexico City at Gimnasio Olimpico. Tickets are available now.

The popular masked star still has no match at WrestleMania. Last year, he was in a fatal four-way match for the Intercontinental title along with Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker, and Finn Balor.

Collision to air head-to-head against Impact next Thursday

Collision next week will air on Thursday at 8PM ET instead of Saturday due to the TNT’s coverage of NCAA basketball.

The temporary change was announced on last night’s show. Collision will not be live on Thursday and instead will be part of a double TV taping the day before in Winnipeg, Canada.

TNT will air a replay of Collision on Saturday night at 11:30PM ET after the NCAA coverage ends.

With the show moving to Thursday, it will air opposite TNA Impact on AMC.

Trick Williams invites Lil Yachty to attend Smackdown next week

Trick Williams has invited rapper Lil Yachty to attend next week’s Smackdown live from St. Louis.

In a video posted on social media, Williams said that he had been in deep contemplation on how “The Gingerbread Man” walked out of Smackdown the United States champion.

“So, this is what we about to do about it. We about to change up the whole dynamic. I wanna personally invite my boy, I’m talking about my day one, a long time back, my HBCU brother Lil Yachty, I need for you to pull up to Smackdown this week,” Williams said. “We in St. Louis, I need for you to pull up, spice things up, talk to these folks, man. Let them know what’s going on around here. The games are done, grown folk talking. Pull up on me, dog, let’s talk about it.”

Lil Yachty is a huge WWE fan and has been at ringside for multiple events in the past.

Williams will battle Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 42.

Josh Alexander injured, to undergo knee surgery

In a video posted on social media, a frustrated Josh Alexander revealed that he will have to undergo knee surgery next Wednesday.

Alexander suffered the injury during the Collision tapings in a trios title match and he only found out how series it was now.

“I know I’ve been limping and been in pain for a week. But yeah, my surgeon told me, you know, I’m gonna need surgery this coming Wednesday. My knee injury is pretty severe,” he said. “And there’s, there’s no timetable set right now for when I will be back.”

Alexander was supposed to defend the MLP Canadian title last night at the MLPxROH Global Wars event but obviously was not cleared to compete.

“I would defend my Canadian championship still with one leg if I had to, because MLP, Canadian wrestling, it means everything to me, man. It’s who I’ve been for 20 plus years,” he continued.

His match with El Clon and Konosuke Takeshita against JetSpeed and Mistico, taped the prior Wednesday, will be his last one for a while as a long road to recovery lies ahead.

Unsanctioned match between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu announced for WrestleMania 42

WrestleMania 42

Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu will be going one-on-one at WrestleMania 42 in an unsanctioned match.

The feud between the two escalated yesterday on Smackdown, with McIntyre telling Fatu that he stole everything from him and referred to him as a criminal who did the crime and did the time.

It was Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis who said that the two were not in a condition to fight on Smackdown, but they have enough time to recover for an unsanctioned match at WrestleMania.

Both McIntyre and Fatu have been feuding for months, with Fatu inadvertently helping McIntyre win the WWE title but then also interfered in the return match, costing McIntyre the title.

There are rumors the unsanctioned match might also happen inside Hell In A Cell.

Taryn Terrell and Havok return to TNA at Sacrifice

Sacrifice 2026

Two former TNA Knockouts returned during the Sacrifice TNA+ event last night in New Orleans.

Taryn Terrell, who is from New Orleans herself, made her first appearance for the company since 2017 and joined ODB and Mickie James. The three challenged The Elegance Brand to a match. Terrell also wrestled for WWE between 2007 and 2010 and was discovered during the Diva Search contest. The former Playboy model was released from the company in November 2010 following a suspension due to an incident with her then-husband Drew McIntyre.

Havok also returned at Sacrifice and made an appearance in a backstage segment. She appeared in a gas mask and attacked Mila Moore. The former TNA Knockouts champion worked for the company between 2014 and 2015 and then returned in 2019 for a longer stint till 2024. She had been teaming with Rosemary, who also just recently returned to the promotion.

Sami Zayn wins the United States title on Smackdown, gets WrestleMania 42 match

The WWE United States title will be on the line at WrestleMania 42 as new champion Sami Zayn will defend against former NXT champion Trick Williams.

Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes on Smackdown last night to win the gold after Williams interfered. Williams got the U.S. title and slid it in the ring for Zayn, but with the referee busy with handing over the title back, Williams took out his former partner inadvertently as he tried to run the ropes with Zayn and Zayn ducked. Zayn pushed Williams away but took advantage of the situation and hit the Helluva Kick for the pinfall victory.

Earlier in the broadcast, Williams was booked for a Mania spot by Smackdown GM Nick Aldis and Zayn was told there was no spot for him, which led Zayn to punch Trick after he taunted him about spending WrestleMania in catering.

After the victory, Zayn sarcastically asked Aldis if he had a spot now, with Aldis replying in the affirmative against Trick Williams for the title.

Hayes’ loss to Zayn brings down his title reign after 91 days, a title reign which pretty much had an enjoyable open challenge almost every week.

Steve Maclin knocked out during Sacrifice main event, match stopped after few minutes

The Sacrifice main event match between champion Mike Santana and challenger Steve Maclin had to be stopped after Maclin was knocked out and suffered an apparent concussion at the beginning of the match.

Maclin got super kicked coming off running the ropes and after he went down, he did not move. The referee immediately noticed something was wrong and prevented Santana from pulling Maclin up. Maclin was held up by the ref and then she made the X hand sign.

A medical team and TNA President Carlos Silva made their way to the ring to check up on Maclin, and eventually took him out of the ring as he was still very wobbly. Eddie Edwards then came out to fight Santana to take the viewers’ attention off the medical situation.

After a few minutes of brawling with Edwards, Sananta was announced as the winner of the match due to a no contest and the show went off the air way earlier than expected.

Beyond Arslanbek Makhmudov: What does the future hold for Tyson Fury?

Not to overlook Arslanbek Makhmudov, but Tyson Fury will feel like he has bigger fish to fry as he prepares to return to the boxing ring next month.

With Fury vs Makhmudov odds firmly in the Gypsy King’s favour, attention is already turning to what a successful comeback could unlock.

Fury himself has made no secret of his ambitions, recently outlining his perfect 2026: beat Makhmudov, beat Anthony Joshua, then win back a world title. So, who could be next?

Fabio Wardley

The WBO heavyweight champion is a compelling domestic option. Wardley announced himself on the world stage in October 2025 when he came from behind to stop Joseph Parker in the 11th round at the O2 Arena, winning the WBO interim title in one of the year’s most dramatic heavyweight bouts.

He was subsequently elevated to full champion after Usyk relinquished the belt, and he now defends it against Daniel Dubois in May. Fury has publicly flagged the fellow Frank Warren fighter as a good option for a second fight in 2026, and the Ipswich native is keen to make it happen, too.

Daniel Dubois

Should Dubois win the WBO title by beating Wardley, he would slot straight into that conversation. Fury has mentioned Dubois by name as one of the big fights available to him, and the credentials are there.

Dubois won the IBF heavyweight title by beating Filip Hrgovic for the vacant belt, before being elevated to the full champion. He then retained it by knocking out Joshua, only to lose it back to former owner Oleksandr Usyk. A Fury vs Dubois fight would carry genuine intrigue.

Anthony Joshua

This is the fight that British boxing has craved for the best part of a decade. Fury has named Joshua as part of his ideal 2026 schedule, and promoter Warren has confirmed there is serious intent on both sides.

However, Joshua’s future is far from certain following a devastating car crash in Nigeria in December 2025, in which two of his closest friends and training team members, strength and conditioning coach Sina Ghami and trainer Latif Ayodele, were tragically killed. Joshua sustained minor injuries, but the emotional toll has cast doubt over when, or whether, he will return to the ring.

Oleksandr Usyk

The fight that Fury ultimately wants above all others is a third meeting with Usyk, the man who beat him twice in 2024. Fury and his team insist he was unfortunate to lose both decisions, and a trilogy fight would be one of the biggest events in modern heavyweight history.

Usyk currently holds three of the four major world titles and remains the undisputed king of the division. Boxing betting markets would make Usyk a strong favourite for a third bout, but Fury’s belief in his ability to reverse those verdicts appears genuine.

First, though, the Ukrainian is set to face kickboxer Rico Verhoeven at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt on May 23, where his WBC heavyweight title will be controversially on the line first.

Deontay Wilder

A fourth fight with Wilder is the wildcard option. Fury and Wilder have already met three times in a compelling rivalry, and Fury has mentioned the American’s name as one of the available big fights. With Wilder still active and still carrying the kind of knockout power that makes any fight dangerous, it would attract considerable interest, even if it feels more like nostalgia than necessity at this stage of both men’s careers.

Fury has previously suggested he has three fights left in him before another retirement. If he gets past Makhmudov cleanly, the division opens up in front of him. The question is whether age, motivation, and the right opponents align before he hangs up his gloves for good.

Netflix Chief Content Officer describes WWE partnership as “incredible”

Appearing on the Stephanie McMahon podcast What’s Your Story?, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria described the WWE partnership as “incredible” and is looking forward to see how they can integrate WWE Superstars with Netflix shows and vice versa in the future.

Bajaria put over the WWE talent who went over to do some Netflix shows, naming specifically Seth Rollins and John Cena, saying they care, they’re positive, and have a fantastic work ethic with a real joy that they bring to fans and audiences.

“So, when they come to our events, they just are like, ‘We want to make everybody feel good.’ I go, ‘You’re all so good at this.’ But really, the partnership, again, just wanting to like…continue with this, having the storytelling that touches people and then surprises them and takes them on a journey is…you all do it so incredibly well,” she told McMahon.

Netflix and WWE started their 10-year, $5 billion media rights deal in January 2025. In the United States, Netflix airs Raw and all WWE programming worldwide (excluding US), including PLEs, also air on the streaming service.

Chris Jericho files for new “Cornerstone” trademark with USPTO

While the former AEW World champion has been off television since April of last year, a filing for a new trademark application might give a glimpse of Jericho’s next gimmick.

Filed two days ago with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Jericho applied to trademark the word Cornerstone, for goods and services including shirts and apparel, entertainment services under performances by a wrestler, and even providing wrestling news via a computer network.

Jericho was last seen using The Learning Tree gimmick in AEW but has been absent for nearly a year now. There were rumors that his contract was expiring at the end of 2025 but news then came out that it was extended to reflect his time off from the company.

It remains unclear when Jericho is returning at this point.

Buff Bagwell makes surprise appearance on TNA Impact

Buff Bagwell made a surprise appearance on TNA Impact on AMC last night.

The WCW star was introduced by Gia Miller at the top of the stage and vowed to wrestle for TNA one more time, even with an amputated leg. Bagwell apologized for his behavior over the past two decades and promised he will walk to that ring again if the fans get behind him.

He was then rudely interrupted by former TNA champion Frankie Kazarian, who made fun of Bagwell’s walk. Kazarian told Buff that he was half the man he used to be, referring to his leg amputation.

Bagwell was saved by Elijah, who offered to eventually help Bagwell.

The former WCW Tag Team champion was part of the first-ever TNA show in 2002.
